I would totally find it helpful. I can read the instructions and peruse the forums endlessly. But nothing teaches me quite like a video.
You see, I'm a bit of a thickie. Still getting my head around AHQ. Which is why I'll never try to actually tackle GMing a full-on RPG.
I have played a handful of times with my kid, and we both had fun. But it did feel, now and then, that it was getting a little monotonous with the open door.. kill monster... repeat. Don't get me wrong, I love it. But I also know there's tons of little rule tweaks on this forum. House rules, incorporating AHQ or even WHQ rules, Lots of stuff about advancing between adventures, Story-telling techniques, etc. I bet some of you get more into the Role-playing, and vivid description/story-telling aspect.
YouTube seemed sorely lacking in the HQ/AHQ info. I normally use it to learn a new board game. Rodney Smith is a personal hero. I'd love a good how-to with the HQ/AHQ/WQ world. It doesn't even have to be a 'rules' how-to.. but just a ... better window.. into how some of you put on a good game. How it flows, how you tackle travel/advancement, modified rules etc. So if you're not too camera shy, I just wanna throw it out there... I'd love you to plop a camera down and roll for a game. If you're feeling fancy, go into your house rules for an actual 'instructional', do some editing, etc. If you're not.. then just let it roll for a game and allow a noob like me.. who uses YouTube to learn just about everything... a look into how it flows with your group, and the perhaps more subtle things y'all do to keep it fresh.
Just a suggestion.
P.S... audio is often more important than video. Seeing a wideshot of a group around the table and hearing "mmffrppfnnngg grrmmmlll", "gdrrnnfffnnn drxylll plnnngg" doesn't help much.(Lots of YouTubes out there like that lol
