It is ok to pay 100 eur for a mint condition sticker album if you can, but for sure not 5.000. He is probably waiting that some Arabian prince will fall in love for Heroquest and will buy it.
Yeah, that guy is selling for ridiculous prices. Noone's gonna buy that, I believe that he's just showing off.
In terms of collecting and/or finding expansions and merchandise from overseas etc, I strongly believe that people who reside in US, UK or Australia have had the advantage of finding that stuff easier to buy.
Being born in Greece and having lived/worked here all my life, only the core game and the Kellar's Keep was released in Greek language and those were the only games of HeroQuest line that you could buy at that time.
Of course, no imports were made since they didn't care to translate them and during the 90's you wouldn't be able to sell a boardgame that was only in English language - or any other language apart from Greek for that matter. There was no ebay and also there were no thrift store/charity shops/garage sales around here. Hell, even now, the concept of a thrift store is practically unknown in these parts of Europe.
Other than that, it's pretty much a money matter. If you have enough dinero you can get pretty much every expansion /core game / board game you want. In my experience, only a few of HeroQuest merchandise items are extremely hard to find, even if you do have the cash. Those are summed up in the Brazilian magazines of Dragao, the AtOH & ADK puzzles and probably some other magazines like the Fractal Spectrum journals. The complete sticker album is also a rarity.
