Hi Guys,

I have downloaded the pdf files with the tile images in and was wondering the best way to print them out so they are as close to the originals as possible?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I found bristle board and and inkjet can do reasonably well if you want to be thrifty. Choose either the glossy side or the matte side and set your printer accordingly. It makes for an acceptable - if dull - tile set.

But if you got some moolah to burn, go for the color laser at the local printshop. Just be SURE to specify that the grids have to be, what 2.3 cm?

laser color print is the best !! On 250g paper ! Really close to original tiles, I promise ! Paste on some harder paper if you want, but 250g paper is enough in my opinion. You can also plastifie them

Does 250g paper work with your printer? I always found 160g to be teh best compromise between thickness and printer compability, but of course would also like sturdier paper. Which printer do you use?

Hi gravaillon, i plan on designing some tiles myself, too (http://heroquest-painted.blogspot.com/2011/03/tuile-style-grotte-pour-vos-donjons.html).

I recently went to an artshop and found there some great cartons. I found the exact grey carton that is used for game boards. it's about 4€. Then I woud probably print my tiles in a copy shop and then make some craft activity with wood glue. There is also a black sheet of special paper like the one on the back side of the game board. I will post some picture on my website when i finish the whole thing.

I was gonna ask for some help on how to print tiles for use in the game. I went to a local office supply store and bought the thickest available inkjet cardstock. Which is like 110lb. So far, its worked..I just would like a way to make it a little bit thicker and closer to the original. I was thinking about cutting some same size shapes and gluing them to the bottom of the printed tiles...may be reasonably closer to the original thickness of the tiles. Any other suggestions?

There are different thicknesses depending on where the original tiles come from. Be it the game system(s), an expansion, or territorial release. Personally, I prefer the thinner stock for room tiles. I find it better when placing doors. They don't lean as much if you want them to be centre on the wall between rooms/corridors. (not as thin as paper, need some durability)

Also..when it comes to tiles...just for fun, lets say the frozen horror set. I understand that each square is supposed to be 1 inch x 1 inch. The ones I printed off arent quite that size (granted, I did not get them from this site). But are their any special settings I should use to print? Or are the correct sizes hosted on this site? By that I mean, I download the .pdf and print and the tiles are all the correct size to be cut and used on the game board.

The squares are approx. 22.5 mm (7/8"). The tile PDFs here should print the proper size (they always have for me whenever I've tested them). Just double-check the page scaling is set to none in the print options.
