Actually that set contains 6 Beastmen and 3 Imperial Archers from Battle Masters plus a set of Men-at-Arms/Mercenaries with ½ of their included weapons. Battle Masters averages $20 but often goes for as low as $10. There are a tonne of minis closely comparable to HeroQuest size for that price. I would see the Archers and Beastmen as more of a bonus in this case, which leads me to ask... Are the Men-at-Arms worth that much?

Well men at arms (at least for me) are the trickiest figures to replace. You see the nice little patent with interchangeable weapons. Makes them unique. If one wanted to buy new GW minis to replace them, would have to buy enough boxes in order to have, zeihanders, sword and shield and crossbow troops. If we add the costs its significantly cheaper to buy the little original suckers. I was lucky and found some, floating around ebay 2 years ago, plus the ones that where in a box of HQ advanced quest in super condition for only 10 euro (it costed twice the price for shipping).

1. Ogres (all of em) hard to find and costly at the fairs- can cost 10 quid upwards
2. Wizards - fairs - just hard to find
3. Men at arms - fairs - (with all weapons options) can be cheap as they've usually got bits missing - but ive a few spares for when i find em

the rest u can pick up occasionally at car boot sales

ebays always full of folk wanting to make vast amounts of cash from these 2 sets - WOM(orcar) Ogre horde. U can find em cheap at times - see my previous note re getting a pile of gear for really next to nothing

I remember buying my first sets of these at 7 pounds a box set - and they had LOADS in the shop- anyone got a spare time machine?

I got my set complete with Keller's Keep and rotwk for only 85$!

I managed to snag my copy on the cheap. I got the American edition 100% complete with unpainted mini's for only forty US dollars. You could tell the guy who had it kept it in great shape since everything is in superb condition. I also got Keller's Keep and Witch Lord 100% complete for about 100 US dollars. These were also in good shape however the Witch Lord's throne was bent in the middle. It's not ripped or anything, but it is creased.

$50.00 At a convention, but it came with return of the witch lord expansion is in immaculate condition for its age and when combining it with the remenents of my original one as a kid I was able to build kellars keep, I just had to print the expansion from here

Christmas, 1991, Toys "R" Us for $29.99 I think it was. My mom had some kind of coupon for like $10.00 of or something. But that was the best Christmas I had when I was younger.
