Welcome! And yeah... the first thing I thought was "awesome name". But if "Colossus" is your middle name, is your surname awesome as well? Is it "Powers"? Hunter? Diamond? King? It's King isn't it? It's gotta be King!

Welcome back, ChrisColossus. Who'd have thought that back when we were playing years ago that we'd be playing again with mothers and girls? Turns out we just needed some maturing(?) and a classic with broad enough appeal for a family gaming group. I also hope to play with my wife and 5-year-old daughter in the future, and am preparing both in my notebook and here at the Inn for that day.

I am just as surprised as you are Daedalus. I have had females in past gaming groups(although, of course, the majority were males), but to see both my wife AND my 6 yr old daughter tell me "Heroquest sounds interesting; If you teach us, we will definitely play". Caught me totally off guard. hopefully they'll find it as cool as I did and when my son is old enough(he's only 2) , talk about a family game night!

Can of worms. I like the letter k because it's almost neglected in English language although it conveys a certain sound that is used in English as well, but represented by different letters.
As for the initials... forgive me, but
1. it just wasn't meant that way,
2. I didn't even see or notice the acronymic interpretation,
3. my "culture" is completely disconnected from that specifically American historical background. So am I. Seriously, I do not get the point of racism, even theoretically.

We all say or write things, that - unbeknownst to us or through carelessness or accidentally - offend someone from some cultural or educational background somewhere.
We certainly do not watch out for not offending Japanese or Russion or Indian or any other culture, even in this forum.

This caught your eye - and mine after you pointed me to it - only because you are British and thus culturally related and me because of cultural and historical education.
It is known American background in Germany as is Nationalsozialismus in the USA and Great Britain, but it never affected us here and is very very little in our consciousness in everyday life. We as Germans have heard about it and know roughly what it is and that's it.
Thus, I simply didn't notice. I like the letter k so much.

And I'm sincerely sorry for accidentally offending anyone. Teldurn didn't even notice and I can completely relate to that.
