Hiya folks.

Postby Bob-Bob » June 6th, 2014, 6:40 pm

One year ago I got a HeroQuest set on eBay. It was slightly beat-up and had a few pre-painted minis, but I didn't care. I just wanted to own it. That summer I played one quest with two of my friends. We had a blast. Now it's a whole year later and I haven't played it since. Everybody I know in real life isn't interested, is too busy, or lives too far away. I tried out the Vassal module, but the two real-life friends who wanted to play with me couldn't get Vassal to work. I've asked around every other community I belong to, and either they weren't interested or just didn't have time. :(

So here I am. I came to the one place on the web I knew there'd be other HeroQuest enthusiasts. I myself am something of a n00b as I've only played the game all of once, I really really wanna continue playing.

I briefly tried the Vassal version but didn't care for it too much. HeroQuest is definitely addicting. Unfortunately, I don't get a chance to play it like I want to either. Welcome to the Inn!

Welcome! I suggest you to ask for players in the "Games in your area" section :)

There's also a play-by-post section with an opening. Respond to the bottom of this thread.

Play-by-post is nice, but I'd much rather be able to play in real time. Also, a lot of you guys are more experienced than me. I wanted to be Zargon, so I was hoping I could find players who are as inexperienced as I am.

Welcome to our Inn! I can be hard to find people to play with. Do you have a FLGS? You might ask around there, or put up a flyer there :)
Force your significant other to play :P
At least hang around here, plenty of great people and lots of HQ resources to find :)

I don't know what a FLGS is.

And significant other? Hah, I have a better chance of winning the Powerball than getting a girlfriend.

Fortunately, my interest in getting the Japanese version of the game translated is proving to be enough to keep me occupied.

I...don't know where the nearest gaming store even is. For all I know it could be several miles away. @.@

My family only just moved here and we've spent the past 5 or so months fixing the house up. So we're still getting acclimated to the area. It's also a very rural area and we only have 1 car, so... yeah.
