I gradually grew to hate 3.5. It was always such a damn job competing with the players. That whole edition was nothing but player-fluff.

It looks like all that art is copyright to greywolf. I know he is a HQ fan - he has his own HQ page.
Does anyone know if we have permission to use those pics for stuff posted here at the inn?

That sight hasn't been updated in five years.

Taken from the last paragraph of that site:

You are free to make use of these images for personal, non-profit purposes - that is, for your own games of D&D or whatever other RPG you may be running. I apologize in advance for the greatly varying quality (or lack thereof) of the images; please keep in mind that they were meant to be printed at a very small size, and many of them were done in great haste. I request that you don't publish these items elsewhere without permission.

Not to hone in on something that's not my conversation....but....I typically would interpret that as it being OK to post finished items, such a card or card set that uses an image, or a set that uses the images on some of, but *maybe* not all cards. However, I would also say that it would prohibit reposting the images into the "Artchives" on this site. I feel that would constitiute a requirment to obtain permission first.

That said.....It's been five years, the odds of any complaint being made are close to nil.

Just my 2 cents...

Chris

I'm not sure I completely agree with that assessment. I think the higher priority at play here is that you don't profit from his work, but feel free to use them in your own home games. I will be using a good number of them for HQ cards and posting them in the Artchives here for others to use in their own home games. No one is selling them, and no one is making money from them.

The way I see it, there's no difference between i) me making a bunch of custom cards and using it myself, while simultaneously a dozen other people make a bunch of custom cards, but we never share it with one another, and ii) one person makes some cards using the art and posts it here, then a dozen other people use those same cards for their own games. The end result either way is that everyone has fun with it without making money.

I think his statement of publishing the items elsewhere is so that you don't publish them for others to purchase and profit.

But, I guess I could also be wrong.

I See your point and I agree. I don't think that there'd be any fallout from any non profit use. Just to clarify my comment about the archives....I think posting completed cards is totally fine, but maybe not wholesale copying of all the images, unless there'd be a way to say somewhere..."the following images created by xxxxxxxxx". There are a lot of images there.
