Since Hero Quest is expandable, I'd say extend this official expansion rule to a Hero who is granted 2 attacks from Heroic Brew.

I believe you're referencing this:
"There are a few gameplay differences in the Barbarian Quest Pack."

The gameplay differences are differences from what was already present in the Main Game System. While the differences relate to the BQP, they aren't limited to it. Many differences are shared in common with the EQP, such as the Passing Items and the Spiral Stairway entries also found in the Rules Clarifications section. The Female Barbarian section refers to its use in Quest Packs, which implies it was meant for general future releases.

Though retconning rules using the expansions is neither advised nor discouraged by the BQP, picking and choosing is a good way to approach the expansion gameplay differences. I feel the Multiple Attacks entry applies well when judging the limits of Heroic Brew, and I like many others rules to apply from Quest 1. I wouldn't include the Treasure Cards before the Frozen Horror was played, however. Others have expressed problems with the Mind Points rules. So yeah, only apply expansion rules if you like 'em.

Heroic brew must work against 2 monsters, otherwise the only hero who would be able to kill 2 monsters (in the same turn) is the holder of the Wand of Magic..not logical.

I hope someone gets my question. Might be completely incomprehensible for a native speaker, but I studied English as a Non-native speaker and often knowing about details raises more questions. Sheldon Cooper will attest to that.

It only refers to a single orc. It would otherwise read "if you are fighting orcs."

Yup, that's how I read it as well. You're fighting an orc. That's one orc.

I get the interpretation and I favor it, too, for the sake of gamplay, but it's intuitively not as clear as that, Sjeng.
First attack, you're fighting an Orc.
Second attack, you're fighting an Orc.
The wording may not exclude the possibility that it is a different orc each time you attack.

I, for one, get the sense that the whole expression could be interpreted in several ways:
"You may attack twice if attacking an Orc each time."
"You may attack a second time if attacking an Orc."
"You may attack a second time if attacking one and the same Orc."

I would find it helpful if the wording would be "a second time" instead of "twice", cause it would clairfy things.
Also, "an" is an indefinite article not denoting a set number, but more the general idea of "one orc, that can be attacked at any given point in time" as opposed to "two or more orcs to be attacked with one single attack roll".

One and the same Orc. I've said this in the Orcs Bane thread.

An = A = One. You may attack twice if attacking one orc

If you were attacking a mummy, it would read;
"You may attack twice if attacking a Mummy."
'an' isn't a plural thing, it's just one of those English nuances (nuisances?) to make a sentence sound like it flows better. I think having the ability to attack twice against the same monster is a neat advantage but (house rule aside) I don't agree that you should be able carry on and attack another monster.

It's also not strictly a singular thing, cause it can denote the generality of the entire group of the subject.
A fan likes his club = All fans like their respective clubs.

But like I said, I didn't have anything else in mind for my own game than the interpretation of "one Orc".
