Uhm.ok..

Postby Schmidt » July 20th, 2013, 12:38 pm

I just took my HQ down from the attic, as my two youngest sons are getting old enough to play. I found a lot of resource pages today, and discovered that my Danish edition is full of errors....

Talisman of Lore doubles your mind points
Broadsword makes you roll three dice as defense
Crossbow can attack adjacent (although it says you can't in the rule book)

I bought this game in 1992, before we had kids, so the wife and I played it a lot. Now, that I have taken it down again, she says she has grown too old for this ( :?: is that even possible :?: ), but the kids and I enjoy it.
I don't know if this is just a brief phase (apparently I can only have one hobby in my life at any given time, and I have invested quite some time in learning to speed solve various Rubik's type puzzles, so I guess that is still my "main" hobby), but if I stick around I might translate some stuff to Danish.

I just searched the attic for my Kellars Keep, but couldn't find it :o , so I have a lot of printing to do! (Thanks to anyone/body for taking the time to collect all of these great resources)

Wow, it's wierd that your cards are wrong :? I wonder is this made on purpose.

Tell your wife, that it's not possible to be too old -or young- to play HeroQuest. End of discussion.

And last but not least, welcome to the Inn! |_P

Edit. And concratulations for being the 900th member of this awesome forum :)

I read somewhere that the Finnish version was badly translated as well.

Not completely, some flaws here and there. And instruction booklet is bad in all european versions.

Growing up on English AD&D, most creature translations sounds silly.

Tulipallo does not sound as powerful as fireball (google translated that one)

That translation is correct :D But it sounds weaker just because you don't speak finnish ;)
