One other thing I really like about HQ is the furniture! It just adds that..what the french call.......I don't know what, to the game!

If you're talking about Descent it does in fact include a ton of mini's with it. I believe this is what the standard game comes with. However, there are expansions too.

i got mine off of eBay and it ran me $60.00 and each expansion (5 so far) cost $35.00-$40.00 a set i don't have them yet. in one of the expansions they give you a role-playing option like D&D and Heroquest. they are very customizable and there are many monsters in the main set alone to have endless hours of fun. one problem: there are alot of pieces to the game(some are need some others not so much) alot of dice, and sometimes confusing, but even if you don't play it by the rules given you can just play it like heroquest. i am in the process of converting it right now but its on hold got to finish reading my book.

here is the link to board game geek that has the list of Descent games.

there are more monsters in the main set then in the picture and in the newest set that came out you get sea serpents. Heroquest + Pirates of the Caribbean = AWESOME!! 8-)

There are lots of miniatures that can be used for HQ. Heresy miniatures are used a lot by HQ fans, as are Warhammer Fantasy and D&D miniatures (medium size I believe).
