I like the non-linear approach. If you want to do more damage in a single attack, there should be a premium on the price for that ability. :2cents:

Maybe a more formulaic approach???

100*X + 100*(Log(X/2)) = Cost
where X is Attack Dice and the Cost is rounded to the nearest whole number.
1 Attack = 70
2 Attack = 200
3 Attack = 318
4 Attack = 430

Or maybe this one with little higher numbers:
100*X + 100*(Log(X^2/2)) = Cost
where X is Attack Dice and Cost rounded to the nearest whole number
1 Attack = 70
2 Attack = 230
3 Attack = 365
4 Attack = 490

Either way it would lower the cost of the dagger and other 1 attack weapons greatly. Which is probably a good thing.

can you make that formula simpler, without Log, but perhaps a simple X+Y² where the amount of dice is in there somewhere, and with a steeper cost? Closer to the prices I suggested?
(too lazy to figure out a formula)

So demanding! :p

I can take a look later. But Log is nice because when you take the log of a fraction it comes out with a negative value, and thus 1 combat dice weapons will be pretty low and affordable starter weapons. There is a Log button on MS Windows calculator (under Scientific view).

Oh, and changing the exponential value in Log(X^2/2), will increase the value. Something to play around with. So for example with an exponential value of 3:
100*X + 100*(Log(X^3/2))
1 Attack = 70
2 Attack = 260
3 Attack = 413
4 Attack = 550

My approach was to take 150gc as the value of a 2-dice weapon, then look for a progression that would yield costs in the same ball park as the official ones. I settled on an 82% increase in cost per die.

Dice: Cost
1 die: 82.42gc
2 dice: 150gc
3 dice: 273gc
4 dice: 496.86gc

Then I fudged the numbers a bit to make them easier to remember. The 'broadsword' worked out at 25gc more than RAW, while the 'battle axe' was 25gc less. Of course. the cost of the latter depends on how much of a discount the two-handed requirement is worth. I figured a 15% reduction was good.

But if you want a steeper curve, that could have interesting effects. It would slow down the acquisition of better gear.

1 die = 75g
2 dice = 175g
3 dice = 300g
4 dice = 500g
5 dice = 800g

<snip>

Nice work, and attractive card. I notice one error: the bastard sword is listed as both two-handed and dual wield. Also, did you mean for the damage to be so high? You have the bastard sword doing more damage than the greatsword. You may also want to delete the entry for the gladius, since that is a form of shortsword.

Some other weapon traits are questionable from the standpoint of realism, but realism was never a priority in HQ.

Those are indeed errors. Shortsword isnt supposed to have reach, and the bastard sword is obviously not dual wield. Thanks for spotting it!
