Here are the carting-capacity of the heroes:
- 2 weapons (a primary and side arm, but only one maybe used at a time)
- 1 body armor (this includes robes)
- 1 headgear (helmet, hat, crown, etc.)
- 1 cape
- 1 pair of footwear (shoes or boots)
- 2 rings (one per hand)
- 1 necklace (charms, talismans, etc.)
- 1 money sack (with a 100gp limit*, and gems & jewels count as 5 coins each)
- 1 backpack (with an 8 item limit - each additional 100 coins count as an item)
Beyond this limit, the Heroes can store excess gold and equipment at their safe-house (see below). Such items are off-limit during a Quest, or between Quests that takes the Heroes directly to the next adventure. (e.g. The Heroes have been captured, or both dungeons are adjacent to each other.) Overburdened characters (who carry more then what their backpacks can hold) move at half-speed. Plus, they cannot use a shield or two-handed weapon without dropping the excess load (a marker is placed on the square for after-battle recovery, but monsters may steal it if left alone).
Drawing a new weapon counts as a free action. I count bows and crossbows as two-handed weapons.
With the stored items, there is a chance of theft between Quests. This rule is only used to keep characters form hoarding. For each henchman hired by a Hero to guard his safe-house, the chances are lowered by one category (e.g. 2 henchman guarding 27 items means a roll of 1 on a d6 means that 1 random item was stolen). NOTE: 100 gold coins count as a single item, as wells as 20 gems & jewels.
0-10 stored items means no chance of theft.
11-20 stored items means a 1-in-6 chance of 1 random item has been stolen.
21-30 stored items means a 2-in-6 chance of 2 random items has been stolen.
31-40 stored items means a 3-in-6 chance of 3 random items has been stolen.
41-50 stored items means a 4-in-6 chance of 4 random items has been stolen.
51-60 stored items means a 5-in-6 chance of 5 random items has been stolen.
61+ stored items means 6 item where outright stolen.
*I houseruled that all gold values are 1/5th the normal values, and all treasure and prices have been adjusted for this.
