Believe him because of....?

I don't get it. Someone claims to have something that is unbelievably rare...so rare, almost no-one has ever seen it (there aren't any pix of it on the net) and as far as I know there isn't even proof that it even exists! (If there is proof: show me).
The person who claims to have this rare piece can't show pix because he gets sued if he does??????

Two things:
-What if I claim to have these prototypes as well. I can't show pix unfortunately! But hey, you believe me....right? ;)

-You may know I have 'some' knowledge of Star Wars
There have been a LOT of prototypes over the years. Prototypes of toys, action figures....you name it! A LOT of these are in the hands of collectors. Some are one-of-a-kind. Are there pix of these rare items? Certainly! In fact, a lot of collectors are like "if there isn't proof (a photo or document) it doesn't exist". And guess what: the owners didn't get sued by Lucasfilm/Kenner/etc!
If I would claim on a Star Wars forum I have some rare never-before-heard-of prototype of a figure.....no-one would believe me unless I have proof in the form of a photo or something.

I understand your logic and I too question the likelihood of a lawsuit resulting from posting pictures of unreleased miniature prototypes, but the person who claims to have them does possess the incredibly rare 4-ups for the Elf and Barbarian Quest Packs. This lends a great deal of credibility to his claim. We've also seen the design sketches on Toco's website that he obtained from the original artists, so we know for certain that other Quest Pack miniatures were in the planning stages. Were it not for these facts I too would doubt his claim.

Ok, he has the 4-ups. Still, no proof he has more.
And yes, I know other minis were in the planning stages. The sketches are the proof of that fact, not the fact he has them.

Also, posting design sketches of the new minis isn't a problem......but posting photos of those minis is?

As I understand it, the sketches are the property of the artists - Toco has asked their permission to post them.

My guess (like Blackthorn) is that "what's his name" probably received the 4-ups from a personal friend on the condition that he would not publish them. He WOULD be a douche to break such a promise.
What he SHOULD do however, was to talk to his friend and ask to publish them - or ask the friend who decides that if not him. Maybe he could get a "yes".

That being said, yeah we kinda need to see them! :)

@Goblinking-

Your guess is on the money. He is friends with the creative design heads at the Milton Bradley branch of Hasbro. They go back together from their Heroscape days. "What'shisname" has already said he wouln't betray his friend's trust and put them in jeopordy by breaking the nondisclosure agreement they must abide by. The choice to free any pictures is held back by their bosses, who are suits in a very powerful toy company, complete with a legal department.

People at Old Scratch that know "What'shisname" the longest have no problem believing him. His credentials are solid both in Heroscape and Hero Quest.

As plausible as that sounds, the fact is that if the unreleased miniatures were shown it would prove once and for all that Mentor is actually Zargon's father

Nope, no dorks in this forum, none whatsoever.
Sure it's pretty scary when the witch lord returns but what you should really be afraid of is "Resurrection of the Witch Lord". Resurrected baddies always come back more threatening than ever, usually kind of demonic with wings and horns and hell fire to announce their arrival. Think Gannondorf or Mother Brain from Super Metroid.
