Right? Target often has put up various Warhammer related bookshelf games (at least until they sell out) similar to Barnes & Noble (but sometimes with ones that you don't see other places). "Space Marine: the Board Game" is long gone (it came with one Marine commander and a dozen or so Tyrannids). The real game to get a few years ago was "Warhammer: Fireteam" (meant as a standalone spinoff of "Killteam" that came with a squad of Ultramarines and a bunch of necron enemies, I got three of them at the 50% off post-Christmas sale, it was glorious).
Space Crusade was very specific... it had three factions (red, blue, and yellow) with 5 characters each, plus a bunch of different alien monsters (green, gray, purple) in plastic. These games you see now are mostly cardboard, and instead of having four large board sections, they're either one small skirmish type board of hexes or else a modular type dungeon layout (similar to the old "Space Hulk") game.
Note the difference in titles... yes "Tyrannid Attack" was the name of an old 40K based boxed game (itself a kind of spinoff of Advanced Space Crusade, which had squads of Space Marine Scouts facing off against Tyrannids and modular tile format) but this is "Space Marine Adventures: Tyrannid Attack." The aliens are cardboard, and each player takes control of a Space Marine Commander in a different color instead of commanding a squad of Scouts (or regular Space Marines as in Space Hulk or Space Crusade).
40K fans tend to snap these boxes up fast as they can, and take out the minis (always on the lookout for cheap ways to increase their army size), then sell the boxes of cardboard on Ebay for bargain basement prices. Then again it's hard to build an army like this when it's just commanders (I guess you can swap out the heads for helmets and you're gonna repaint them anyway, right?).
But yeah none of these games we've seen over the past few years look even close to that MB/GWS EU only collab game from 1990 (or any of the other spinoffs that came out up till 2000 when "Lost Patrol" came out, if I recall correctly).
