I've found that just painting the base of a model in a plain grey makes the model look 10 times better. Well worth the small effort if you don't want to paint the whole thing.

I bought two sets expressly because I have multiple painting ideas for various models. My intention has been "one according to the artwork", "one according to my whims", though I'm starting to wonder if maybe I should just do whatever with both and perhaps only go "according to art" with specific models where I feel it works well. At the VERY least, the Witch Lord will have a full undead army's worth in his "white, red, black, and gold" palette.

Rush the Wash is great. His painting style gets a lot of results really quickly too. It's not the easiest style, but it's probably the thing I can best do myself. I just need an appropriately low latency camera setup (I need to work with video magnifiers for this stuff, I already know.)

I wish I could do the kind of stuff some of the painters on YouTube can do, with any amount of anything. Some of them are just phenomenal. I'm never going to be half that good.

Airbrushes make it look so easy, but then I'm thinking you'd use up a lot more paint that way (even if you dilute it). I guess that would be the tradeoff between speed/ease and cost.

There should be a third set for classic 1990 colors.

it also keeps the colors of the minis to follow the rules for those that don't know which monster is what color since the didn't include that on the mosnter cards this time for those who DO paint minis, for the people that cant remember:

goblin, orc, fimir

mummy, skeleton, zombie

chaos warrior, chaos sorcerer, gargoyle

isnt he the one that cleaned the symbols off his original dice by leaving them in mild bleach water over night?

I stink at painting in general. I'm not gonna say my figures will never be painted, but before I do that, I think I'd wanna buy some generic figures to practice with. And that is time and money in itself.

I definitely want to paint my new set when I get it. I am a novice so it will give me a chance to practice some different methods to see what works best, and the style of the new ones is really different. Still have to paint against the ogre horde and the wizards of morcar, so I want all of this painted. I recently got back into hero quest and have made a really good habit out of it. My bases will not be bright green, however. I like shady colores for my minis.
