We have played Battlemasters, Heroquest, Heroscape, Battleball, Battletech, Munchkin, and D&D in all forms up to 2nd edition. My older son and 6 year old daughter play a lot of Ultima Online mmo on free servers and we have a library of over 50 pen and paper rpgs.
My 12 year old son joins our weekly 2nd AD&D game played with my wife and 4 of our friends.
Basic D&D--I miss those rules. You have successfully surrounded yourself with a live-in gaming group, and you have another group besides. I have to go back to college to remember that kind of gaming access--well done.
