Hello From NZ

Postby iKon » May 13th, 2011, 11:19 pm

Hi All

Just signed up thought i'd introduce myself

Heroquest got me into gaming all those years ago and having stated my own family I am digging out my old box to breath new life into it.
I see Heroquest as a gateway game and if I get my kids hooked on HQ then i can grow the gaming habit from there.

My origanal sets of HQ, witch king, kellars keep and Ogre horde are in a very sorry state with many minis unaccounted for and some furniture damaged or missing, not even sure how the card situation is yet since they are in deep storage so I will be building the set from the board up. Got the Board and 5 white dice that are still readable (will have to look into a more perminant dice solution in the fullness of time.
I plan to replace all the mini's
I would like to go with old school citidel metals where I can but will get some new GW plastics to start for the likes of orc, gobbo, skelly and zombie.
Chaos warrior I was thinking of these.

I thought the Fimir would be tricky but I found these

Heroes I have some ideas
Dwarf:
a) one of The White Dwarf minis i have
b) an original citidel Gimli
c) this guyImage

Elf
a) Aenur from Mordheim Image
b) one of several old GW elves I have

Barbarian
one of these probably

Does anybody have suggestions of what they think would make the definative version of Heroquest?

Also does any know where i can get nice version of the furniture and chests?

Hello to you, you ask which is the definitive HQ? Well, I would say that you cannot go far wrong with the Original game. Have a look at Ebay Australia, NZ, South Pacific. Quite a bit of HQ stuff on there. Welcome to the Fold. |_P

Welcome iKon, nice looking minis. I would say the Games Workshop stuff fits in well enough into the HQfeel. I prefer Reaper minis as they are more detailed and the things you can get are so varied.

Are those Fimirs by Games Workshop? been trying to find on es like that for a while.

Welcome to the community! As as the HeroQuest miniatures were originally made by Citadel, most of the Games Workshop stuff fits well. But there are other brands out there with more variety and plenty of great sculpts.

They would be Blood Moon Miniatures.
