[Quest Pack] [6 Quests] - Mound of the Beastmen

Postby Pan » March 1st, 2017, 3:04 pm

Greetings,
I am glad to present you my expansion pack, the Mound of the Beastmen, finally translated in English. Many thanks to Knightkrawler who made this possible, and also clmckay and Gimmeyergold for their contribution. They did an awesome work. Here is a short brief of the quest pack:

--------------------------------------------

The adventure continues…
The Mound of the Beastmen is a new non-official quest pack for the famous boardgame Heroquest, extending the epic adventure of the Champions of the Empire.
No less than six new quests will lead our heroes into the dark depths of the Mound in search of a mysterious artefact, the Black Stone. In this sordid place, they will be confronted with the legions of Morcar who get in their ranks new creatures, and will have to avoid new murderous traps.
However, powerful new artefacts will help them accomplish their goal and gain even greater power.
New tiles will bring an original experience to our adventurers, from the stifling Forest of Shadows to the mystical Halls of Evil…

Will you be ready to face once more the terrible armies of Morcar?

Content:
- 6 new quests
- 4 new creatures
- 4 new artefacts
- A compendium booklet, a new way to tell stories in Heroquest
- New traps
- New tiles
- New game mechanics

-----------------------------------------

I hope you will have fun playing this quest pack, at least the same fun I had creating it. It is getting old now, but I would be interested on any feedback you could have on it, so I could make the next quest packs even greater.

Here is the link for the download:

Scroll down and choose the download button with English flag.
You will find PDF ready to print, and PDF for normal use.

Cheers and have fun!
Pan

Interesting! That one will certainly get a good read-through soon.

In the print-optimized quest book, it seems you oout one page in French - the "New creatures for Morcar".

This is really outstanding. Thanks to everyone involved in producing this English version, but most of all thanks to the quest designer for this excellent quest!

Great work team!

But... Uhhh... Did we really translate this to "Mound"? How about Burrow or Den?

"Mound of the Beastmen" - sounds suspiciously like a porno film and "lead our heroes into the dark depths of the Mound" is almost certainly smut.

When I want to say *tasty treat* I'll say *tasty treat*. Mound is really just a very very shy veiled attempt of conveying *tasty treat*, BEATING AROUND THE BUSH (pun intended), last used by the narrator in Emmanuelle.
Seriously, I suggested Barrow for reasons of my beloved alliteration, but Pan had his reasons to keep Mound.

encountered Henchmen

Postby The Admiral » March 11th, 2017, 4:17 pm

Henchmen are encountered in quests 1, 3, 5 and 6. The Notes make it clear that in quests 1 and 3 henchmen will join the party, and that in quest 6 they will not. In quest 5 there is no note as to the Scout and Halberdier that are encountered. Can they join the party?
