Original Painting Guide

Does anyone know of any 'original guides' printed back in the day ie articles in White Dwarf or similar magazine?
Id be very interested in hunting those down (if they exist that is!!!)

Okay, so after tidying my desk I was looking at the back cover of the quest book an saw that there was a free booklet available called How To Paint Citadel Minatures, does anyone know where I can get a good scan of this or even better an actual copy?

I have a copy of that. I can look to scan it. It is VERY dated. It's also completely generic a painting guide, not tied to GW at all.

I remember there was one in the second Citadel Compendium. It was the first time I actually read something about painting miniatures, drybrushing, washing etc.
For your convenience, I've found a link.
When looking it up, I found that there was even one in the first CC, but this was what nowadays would be called a "stub".

One of the first Citadel painting guides. But if you want to copy Mike McVeys style, I suggest visiting his webspace aka Studio McVey. There is a explanation of his technique used back in the days. It's the same technique, which the user Remy used for his extraordinary HQ paint jobs.
