That's only in the UK. In Canada, they failed to renew their trademark and lost it in 2007

In the US, all HeroQuest trademarks are currently dead.

I've made some searchs : Hasbro France doesn't buy the licence since they can't release the game because of the GLORANTHA heroquest licence.
They are stopped because of this company which is releasing roleplaying gamebooks under the name HEROQUEST....
And GW France has definitively let the HeroQuest, Advanced HeroQuest (space crusade & advanced sc) games !!
No one has it right now.

There have been several people on the internet that think it would be a good idea for Fantasy Flight Games to attain the rights, but to the best of my knowledge, they have not done so.

For those who live in the U.S. and would be interested - Game systems have no trademark or copyright. Hence, when Wizards of the Coast came out with
3rd ed D&D - they created the Open Gaming License so they could have some manageable control over what gets printed and how it gets printed. They
learned the lesson that TSR learned the hard way - YOU CANNOT TRADEMARK OR COPYRIGHT A GAME SYSTEM. That's why there are so many versions
of monopoly floating around.

All you have to do is come up with your own names for people, places, and things, and you can use the exact same system of moving, searching,
combat, defense, etc.

So, in short - be a little creative, come up with your character names and create a world around your game, and don't worry about who owns the copyright
to the game. You can still use the system and mechanics.

Why doesn't Heroquest get re-made? And is it even possible to at least re-make the figures by making a mold of the figure and poring in the plastic? I'd do it my self but I got no way of making the mold or how to get the plastic.

Hasbro has not renewed it's rights to the HeroQuest trademark in many territories. I expect they feel the franchise is not popular enough to earn any substantial profits from a re-release, especially since they would have to renegotiate licencing fees with Games Workshop for the Citadel Miniatures and much of the artwork used in the game.

The miniatures can be reproduced in many ways, but is often tedious, expensive and more importantly, illegal. But there are some tutorials out there on how to do it. Such as this one at Old Scratch's:

Making Molds

and its sequel:

HeroQuest belongs to HASBRO until 2015

Postby HeroQuestFrance » April 18th, 2010, 12:26 pm

HeroQuest belongs to HASBRO now since they bought the part of Games Workshop.
From the juridical service of Hasbro France, they have planed years ago to release it again among their basic games (Monopoly, Cluedo, etc) one day but they are blocked.
Indeed the brand name "HeroQuest" is under licence of Glorantha roleplay games.
They have tried in vain to use the name HeroQuest but MB/GW have registered it before.
Once the name was freed, they could take it and Glorantha is still alive...
So we wait for it here but the costs are now higher and what they could offer us (D&D Hasbro and 2 expansions) proved to the players they will make cheap figurines if it was the case with less 3D elements.
However Hasbro now owns D&D so ... we hope again... a better reedition !
