Soundtrack

I started putting together different music for a sound track to listen to as we play. It's still a work in progress and I wanted to finish before I posted. But then I came across the Zelda soundtracks. They are perfect. I tried to find the you tube ones I was listening to iTunes and it was a pain. Here are some you tube tags to try if you like background music. The legend of Zelda, ocarina of time, wind wakers, cave. Anyway still working on it let me know of any sugestions.

If you're looking for "epic" cinematic scores I say look no further than Audiomachine. This group's soul purpose is to make scores for film trailers and they do a dang good job on it. In particular I like their album "Terminus"

Example of their work.
"Akkadian Empire"

"Lachrimae"

"Caligula"

If you're not a fan of the choir, you can usually find versions of the songs without the choir, as well as Drums only.

There's a couple other groups like this. Off the top of my head I can think of "Two Steps From Hell" and "Sencit Music" who also make trailer music.

I've downloaded the entire Soulreaver soundtrack and am trying to break it down into usable segments to put on a CD I think this will be perfect.

I'm a little apprehensive about putting music on especially for heroquest though, I worry people will think I'm going nutty.

Personnaly I use the conan, the barbarian soundtrack from john milius released in 1982.
It match perfectly with the background of heroquest and fit perfectly too with the barbarian character.
Try it ! Sure you will be agree with me !

Actually the original soundtrack from "Shrek forever After" is very suitable for Hero Quest in my opinion.

My Hero Quest music folder also include the soundtracks from:

* WarCraft 1, 2 (epic) and WoW
* Dungeon Keeper
* Various Conan music
* Theme from Willow
* Remix versions of various C64 game music: Barbarian, Firelord, Rastan, Ramparts, Ultima...

I don't DJ according to what happens in the quest (quiet music for exploration, action music for combat). I just make a random playlist to set the fantasy mood :-)

We also have candles...

I just wish I had a red cape! XD

+1 for conan the barbarian and conan the destroyer soundtracks, where the always been remembered Basil Poledouris wrote that fantastic music (he was Greek so I have one more reason to vote him |_P )

Fans of Conan will probably enjoy the Conan-inspired remix-theme from "Barbarian":

Thanks for the suggestions. I used the playlist option on YouTube and my smart phone to make a long enough soundtrack. I won't post it all because there was way more then I needed. I checked tracks on you tube for gauntlet, Zelda, resident evil, left for dead, diablo, Conan, audioslave, two steps from hell, soul reaver, doom, wolfenstein and lord of the rings.
I found diablo soundtracks to be the best. When we play again my phone will be playing some soft background music.
