New Earth Spell

Postby cynthialee » October 4th, 2011, 11:38 am

Overwhelming Filth
When cast on a monster the beast will become overcome with the filth of their surroundings. The monster will be forced to engage in the cleaning and maintaing of the dungeon for 1D6 turns.
The player may indicate where the monster goes to clean as the caster is pointing out filth to the beast.
This spell will remain in efect until the duation of the spell is over or the monster leaves line of sight of the spell caster.
May not be cast on Undead or a Gargoyle.
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

Shouldn't there be some kind of die or dice roll(s) to resist, such as sleep has? If the monster is attacked, then what? Does it break the spell, or may it attack back? Does the monster need to stay in 1 square, or may it be sent to a room or corridor? Does the monster do windows?

Obviously like any other mind effecting spell attacking the monster would break the spell.

As the spell does not actually harm the monster, mearly delays it being a pest I don't know that a resistance roll is nescesary. Resistance rolls to spells never made any sence to me except in the case where the target of the spell has more intelegence than the caster.
My take on magic has always been if you allow a warrior to just nuke folks left and right with a sword....whats the big deal with a wizard ussing magic to achieve the same results?

However, now that I have pondered on it longer... I don't think that those creatures with more mind points than the caster should be able to be compeled with mind effecting spells.
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

I am totally discumknockerated by you ability to conjure up spells alienate to the masculine mind. Would you consider conjuring up a set of spells for Gayloin The Firmir Mage, bringing forth his feminine side? Spells, hitherto, unknown to us mere males? Gaylion can be found, in the flesh, on page 11 of my Saturday Day Dungeon Chronicles.

I have always been the girl to bring a touch of estrogen to an otherwise testosterone soaked environment.

;)

OK here is one for you

Unlocking the Inner Self
This spell will cause the target to reflect on their life and the chaos and pain they have visited on others.
The target and the casting mage must both roll a d6 and add thier mind points to the roll. If the target gets the higher number the target is uneffected.
If the mage wins the roll the target will abandon the cause of chaos and war and they will seek to leave the area post haste to find a temple in which they may atone for their numerous sins.

:D

You are working well, Gaylion already has a similar spell entitled Cause Panic, look it up in the Firmir Spells on this site. But this is what He is looking for. Think on! Stick another olive in your Martini!

Here is one I thought up over my Breakfast Kipper
The Augean Stables.
Gaylion casts a spell on you, from an ancient Greek Spellbook
You rush from the room or passage where you are, and go to the Firmirs bathroom, where you spend 1d6 turns scrubbing the toilet with your toothbrush
.

never heard of an army of female Hoplites sacking a city and enslaving men....
