After seeing some of the great furniture builds here at the inn, i got side tracked again. I got carried away building this orc's fireplace. I plan on building 2 or 3 different fireplaces for use depending on the theme of the quests.
In Kellars Keep, 4 out of the 10 quests feature a fireplace and this orcly version should fit in. It perhaps needs a few finnishing touches.
I promise i will get back to dungeon building next!

this looks great Sparky!

I like your attention to detail making orc fireplaces. The fireplace in the game system features a painting of a human king; if it was in the same place as a bunch of orcs, it would probably be used as a dartboard by now :D

Love this Orc Skull there! I would love it too, if someone makes a dartboard from the human picture. :D

Here we are again with some more progress shots of the central room. I have added some of my minis to create a few scenes for effect.
I have got my first door piece painted up and i'm mounting my torch's on the door pillars. No where else to really put them.
I added some moss to the walls and tiles then a few other bits and bobs you'ed most likely find in a dungeon. In one of the photos you can see i put some self adhesive felt onto the underside. Just a little added touch to keep the wife happy with her furniture not getting scratches. ;)
I'm currently well on my way on one of the four quarter sections and i'll have pictures up soon.
Does anyone know how to make cobweb effects and what material to use? I was thinking a few cobwebs i some of the recesses would look pretty cool.

Where did you get the self adhesive felt? Great idea. I bought felt but ineed to glue it on. I haven't tried it yet but I'm sure your stuff would be much easier.

Hi Figo, sorry i only just seen your questions. I found the self adhesive felt by searching ebay and found it available in various colours.
For the slime. I first painted the base of the drain in greeny colours, making sure it was darker in the middle to make it look deeper and flowing etc. You could glue items you want floating in the slime at this stage, i glued a zombie hand reaching out from the depths on mine. Then when this is dry you add the modeling water, doesn't have to be so deep, just brush it around until its level. I used Woodland scenics realistic water on mine.
Hope that helps :)

I got done dry brushing the next dungeon section. Dry brushing has to be my favorite part of the build. Its easy to do and very satisfying to do.
I'm not sure if you can tell from the picture but i tried to highlight the centre of the rooms more than the edges, to kind of create the effect of shadows. Whereas the centre of the room is more likely to be lit up more in real life i imagine.
All thats left now is to stain the floors with mud brown an add some dungeon clutter about the place.

I, for one, am excited to see the whole board put together. Unbelievable work!
It's like a new pair of underwear; at first it's constrictive, but after a while it becomes a part of you. I have to go...
