Pizza is a staple most of the time, as are different favoured cups. Flat bread and jalapeño humus, jalapeño poppers, gummie candy, nachos with cheese, nachos with taco dip and nachos with jalapeño yogurt dip are also frequent favourites.

We've also broken out cheese platters before. But its often cheaper and more convenient to go with chips and pizza.

Tell us about the jalapeno humus, please, and what is the situation on North American cheeses ? Whats a Popper ? We used to get Canadian & New Zealand Cheddar Cheese here in UK but entry into the European Common Market stopped all that, much to UK loss in my opinion. Lots of flat breads now available here, cheesy, herby mostly, some with seeds. All good grub! Puck likes to drink J2O, they are mixed fruit juices; are they available outside UK? Me , I am just a plain old country hick, usually a couple of glasses of red wine, then water.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with Munster, just the pong that gets to me. What about the blues? Gorganzola, Bresse Bleue, Pipo Creme, and our own (UK) Stilton.

I looked a bit further into Munster via Wikki, apparently your US Munster, spelt Muenster is quite a bit different to the French Munster, which really is strong, soft & smelly. :!:

When is the next time you are hosting and can I come? It sounds like you eat better on when you game then I do when I cook. :) (maybe a little bit of an exageration but still...)

Sorry just read Munster post now.
If you get a "quality" one (like not a processed manufactured US one) it does indeed reek like nothing else I have ever smelled; including a little ammonia on it! And it is wet. But man, it tastes pretty damn good!
It is strong enough to smell up the entire kitchen.

This is a younger munster - give it a few weeks of the bacterium working - they will make the soft gooiness below the rind spread towards the center of the cheese!
Fastest way is to wear them as slippers for two weeks.

I think we need to rename this thread Cheese !! and not Food !! said Sadkitchen,
So, moving on, how about the humble sausage. Here in UK we can get ready to eat salami type sausages, about as thick as your finger, 6 inches long, called "Pepperami", one medium, quite spicy, one HOT HOT HOT. Also we have a good German supermarket close by that sells similar minis through to Giant Bockworst (sounds like a good name for a new Monster). These come in Turkey & Chicken, plus plain Pork. Very nice warmed up, in a Baguette, with English Mustard. Also this store supplies my every need in Olives, Cornishons & antipasto, also my Red Wine cellar.
