I haven't read all the previous posts but as far as new minis go, and with keeping with the standard HQ simple look, the following figures would be interesting:
beastmen
minotaur
troll (a proper one, not like the dragon strike monstrosity)
skaven (ratmen)
wraith (ghost)

heroes:
cleric (or generic human fighter with a bit of armor on, as opposed to the naked barbarian)
perhaps a female hero, not a dwarf or anything, a female wizard would be nice though.

anything too weird by looks or name should be disqualified.
let's not have another "what the hell is a kobold" discussion, but weird names like bugbear (sorry Sjeng :D ) will upset me and anyone else who isn't familiar with them.

That would be awesome too! And no slave boys... Yuck.

well I know plenty of folks who would think it was awesome!

Really, I could look through knightkrawler's modded minis to come up with some of the best designs for these things. Those modded minis are just awesome.

Now this is an idea I can get behind! I am a sometimes collector of chess sets; a Hero Quest chess set would just be icing on the cake.

What would be the pieces? Probably something like:
Pawns: Men-at-Arms (white; 4 kinds) or Goblins and Orcs (black; 4 kinds total)
Knights: Imperial Knights (white; 2 kinds) or Skeleton and Zombie (black)
Bishops: The Wizard and The Elf (white) or Fimir and Mummy (black)
Rooks: The Dwarf and The Barbarian (white) or Chaos Warriors (black)
Queen: Mentor (white) or The Witch Lord or The Gargoyle (black)
King: The Emperor, or Prince Magnus (white) or Morcar/Zargon (black)

Going to be expensive. $100 a pop for a single 3d model then another $200 per CNC mold.

Oh, right. You'd have to have quite a few molds already produced and paid for to be able to make a chess set, or similar, with what would amount to 32 unique pieces.

I'll get there. Just need a little time. :)

Just wondering what price range these new minis were going to be?

First post.....Done

Have to get all that figured out later on. I haven't had the time to figure out cost of production. The most expensive thing is paying artists to draw up the models and then the second most expensive thing is getting the molds machined. I was going to go as cheap as possible though. I'm shooting for $2-$3 a figure, maybe cheaper. Probably have to include sets to offset the cost of the customer having to pay for shipping. Shipping is expensive right now, even domestic. I have to compete with ebay and amazon even though these are exclusive miniatures.

That sounds reasonable mate, keep us posted. You've got balls to take on something like this so good luck to you. looking forward to seeing some pics.
shhhh, what was that?

The word "slave boys" keeps popping up.
Wouldn't this model essentially be the same as "male prisoner"? In other words a villager in rags and possible even chains...
Or do you by "slave boy" mean 15 yo boys holding a palm leaf for the sultan? - In which case I find the prisoner to be a vastly more useful mini...
I'm by no means against the palm leaf type, but if I had to pick one...

Just my :2cents:
