Printing in uk?

Postby ampersand » July 13th, 2014, 6:40 am

hey guys. Do any of you know of any good print places I could get my board printed at, that are in the UK. I've created a variant board for Heroquest with 30mm squares. has a colour variation to tie in with my advanced heroquest stuff too.
I was thinking of basing on plasticard to make a good solid board. however getting is a completely different matter. so was wondering if anyone had any pointer here?

thanks

I just finished a modular board with 38mm squares. Figures and doors fit great, but the furniture is a bit small.

I simply printed the rooms and corridors on cardstock at the highest quality my printer can produce, and sprayed them with a clear acrylic sealer. This makes the colors more vivid and creates a seal for the next step. Using a clear matte mod podge I glued it to cork board and sealed the whole thing with the same glue. I do not recommended corkboard. It tends to curl when glue or paint is applied and is a pain to lay flat again.

I would recommend using plasticard like you mentioned, or polystyrene sheets as the Murikens call it. I can get it at a model train shop and will be making bases for the furniture to blend better with my oversized board.

So, if you go for modular or don't mind assembling the board for each game, you can just print it at home! I haven't seen plasticard prices, but wood may work as well. I'm thinking thin particle board or something.

It's tough to hold the phone steady enough to get a good shot.

I can prop it up and get a steady shot from an angle, but the focus is hard to control now.

Apologyfor using corkboard

Yeah, traded with CP for random dungeon trappings, and was able to piece the stairs together from that. Still needs painting, that's just the primer. Already had the doors.
