Nothing quite like advertising a game with concept art. Nobody'd want to actually see actual elements of the game advertised.

first impressions are everything.

First impression do count. Buy we are all a little biase aret we? :)and this is a second coming! The impact a great band had like the rollin stones for example when they first hit the scene is never going to be matched by a reunion. I see this as a similar thing. None of it is brand new. So straight away will be on the backfoot because it will be in direct competition with the original.

Is the Kickstarter up and running? Could someone link it?

no its not, their still preparing it. i think were not seeing much actual content because they haven't made it yet! we'll see some before the kickstarter but the whole point of a kickstarter is to get the cash to be able to make a full game.
that may also the reason they're not being particularly vocal, they do have a lot of work to do.

That is basically it. Of course, they will keep on working to show off some stuff during the Kickstarter's run, but they will pretty much be dependent on the trust/the money we give them beforehand. Achievements of the goals will probably be pushed too far towards the end when interest will be evaporated and then -plop- bubbleburst.
Maybe I'm wrong. I certainly don't want this for anyone to happen, but, oh boy, are we on that path.
That has always been my problem with this whole shindig.

& - very true. I'm trying to keep an open mind.
I gotta say though - that video that was posted...that did NOT help any at all. ;)

As far as running a kickstarter - my personal opinion is that, if someone was going to try and publish
a game, they need to have one full version of it ready to go so they can show it on their kickstarter,
so people will know exactly what they are backing.

I personally have been working on a full RPG based on HQ rules and plan to sell that when it is done.
I'm going to use kickstarter to help get the funding I need for my artists, copyrights, and trademarks.
The game will be done, though, and basically ready to print when I place it up on kickstarter.

(WHICH, by the way, might be sometime early next year...hopefully).

That is just my opinion - that's just what I feel would be the professionalism required to get the backers
one would need to fund a game publishing.

Things I want the stretch Goals to say:

X-thousand: We can hire Gary Chalk to do new card illustrations

Y-thousand: We can hire Les Edwards to do a cover painting

Z-thousand: Licence from GW to use "Fimirs" in the game

Take my money!

Also, torilen is doing it right. having a basically finished product that only needs funding for actually getting it in production.

Exactly. like a mini sculpted in 3D at least. A card made in Photoshop and shown as backside and frontside.
Don't tell me that's not doable.
