This is now a GERMAN thread!

In Denmark all kids are offered to learn German in school. Most do, but the subject is notorious for being utterly hated by everyone.
Everybody has personal favorite subjects in school, but German is commonly hated. I think maybe it's because it's first offered around 7th grade.
It's a kinda late age to pick up a new language, combined with the fact that kids become dysfunctional teenagers around that age!

I love German today though ;)

Wow, that back cover is amazing. We definitely did NOT have that in the American version. :(

I've seen it somewhere else, too.
If I'm not mistaken that must've been the Warhammer 5th edition Undead Army Book .
I don't know if the art is even older than that and if it was first used for HQ or for Warhammer.

Germany is very close to Maastricht, as is Belgium, both Flemish and Wallonic (sp?) regions, so we get French, German (and Dutch) here a lot. Had both in school, but only took French as a main course. Dropped German first chance I got. Mainly because it's so common here, everyone knows a little German anyway, and all the grammar kills you. I'd have had really bad grades if I continued German, and yet, I still speak, read, write and understand German a lot better than French :P
Germans are friendly, but their humour is quite different than ours. They love a good beerfest though :D
The Belgians on the other hand have great humour, and, well, they love beer as well lol. And I'm smack in the middle of it all! No complaints here ;)

but we digress xD

Yup, I also noticed that cover art.

Sjeng wrote:Don't worry, non-Germans can't figure out all your cases anyway. I learned them in school, but I never could remember when to use den, der, des, dem, die, dessen, etc... Horrible.

A real language has cases
Lazy usage lets a language loose its cases over the centuries. Old English still had five nominal cases (modern german has only four). Dutch lost it's last conjugated articles (des, der) only very redcently - as late as mid 20th century.
Have a look ;)

Looking at the NA vs. EU Keller's Keep covers... wow, those are quite different as well. I wonder why the changes?

Yes it is indeed from Warhammer. They used that picture everywhere back in the day.

When Milton Bradley chose not to renew its license with Games Workshop IP, it abandoned those elements that weren't exclusively created for Hero Quest. GW retreads like The Army of the Dead had to be removed.
