Combat dice replacements

Postby Jalapenotrellis » March 11th, 2020, 4:03 pm

My group just finished Kellar's Keep, and already the dice are starting to fade and this is my first playthrough of the entire series ever. I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to post this so please move and let me know if it is not. What would you do to replace the heroquest combat dice? Does anyone make these and have some for sale that are of higher quality? Is this a 3D printer sort of thing?

Here you go. When I was a kid, I coated my dice in clear fingernail polish because my mom already had some. You could spray them with a clear coat finish too and that will help preserve the black coloring.

If it comes down to complete desperate measures, you CAN use regular dice.
I always looked at it this way: 1/2 is your white shield, 3/4/5 is your skull, 6 is your black shield.
Or do it the opposit...1 is black, 2/3/4, 5/6 white

Oh cool! How do I place an order? Didn't get to read the 15 page thread but read the first page...assume they are available by now.

They are not available yet, but you can contact Decipher to see if he will have extras. I imagine he will.

It looks like these don't represent the heroquest dice though because they are not the same ratio of skulls to hero shields to monster shields.

Each colored set has different ratios. You want the white set.

Are those dice engraved or printed? It's difficult to tell but they appear printed.

Also, unless one really wants the exact icons from the original game I believe the Heroscape dice have similar ratios of icons (especially if you have any of the special sets they made, with recessed faces).
