Growing up, my friends always oufitted the Barbarian and Dwarf with battleaxes, and the Elf either used one too when he wasn't using a crossbow. The party tore through our enemies like scissors through paper! I was always stuck playing the Wizard, so I am insanely jealous of any character with a battle axe.

Don't I know it. Followed up with "oh you big strong guys can't beat the big bad boss monster? LET ME CAST GENIE FOR YOU." Which almost always killed the thing, but still not as fun as having a battleaxe.
