I just finished Jungles of Delthrak, took Path C. I went through with the Barbarian, Knight, Dwarf & Bard. A little overpowered, but I don't see Wizard spells helping in this. The new monsters had more mind points then they had any right to. A Serpent and Blightcrawler have more more mind points than Cultists, which just seems wrong.
The big issue for the heroes in this quest pack are the Spawnlings and Spawners. The Serpent and Blightcrawler spawn a Spawnling at the end of every hero's turn. The heroes will need to use all their attacks on Spawnlings if they can't reach the Spawner. It grows increasingly annoying as the heroes are constantly being bit and it's easy to lose track or forget to roll for poisoning, body points keep dropping, if you're adjacent to the Serpent but have 2 snakes on you, you pretty much have to attack the Serpent just so he'll stop spawning more
There's only 4 Spider tiles and 4 Snake tiles as Spawnlings, I'm gonna go on a limb and suggest only a Blightcrawler can spawn Spider Spawnlings, not Giant Centipedes or snakes... The rules don't quite say this. Among other things the Rulebook doesn't even clarify what the Rift is, you just need to assume which tile it is on Quest 16.
This Quest went by easy enough for the heroes as the heroes immediately targeted the Blightcrawler right out of the gate. The Knight charged the Giant Spider but whiffed his roll. The Dwarf followed suit, drinking a Potion of Icy Strength and only getting 2 :skull:s. Icy Strength multiplied this into 4, the Blightcrawler only got 1 :blackshield:, dying from 3 :skull:s. Everything else was easy enough to kill, but dropping the Giant Ape's 7BP took a while. But the Bard was able to move through the battlefield with his Bracers of the Wild and throw the Sapphire Skull and Emberwrought Diadem into the Rift.
The Giant Ape might take a while to kill but when the heroes are good on Armor his 4 Attack Dice are not threatening at all. If a Giant Wolf gets 6 Attack Dice, we could at least up the Ape to 5. Even the Raptors get 4 attack dice if the hero is adjacent to another monster. Maybe if I had a Wizard or Rogue playing the Ape might be more menacing, but even the Bard was up to 5 defense dice.

I've switched the Apes attack and mind points, as you say, 4 attack is useless.

Thinking I'll just be using the "boss dice" for big creatures like that in our JoD campaigns...

Hey is anyone having trouble opening the JOD PDF from the Hasbro site? I try to open it and it says there's an error and some graphics don't display. I redownloaded it and still nothing.

Thanks for any help

Seems to only be a problem with Adobe Acrobat. Try another PDF application (like Fox-It Reader) and it should work fine.

Thanks but someone on Reddit had a fixed version. They also fixed the ATOH quest book as well on their site.

This expansion is probably my favorite one. It includes so many great figures, like the snake and the big gorilla! I was surprised that the gorilla is almost as big as the Frozen Horror. A definite recommend, especially if you can get it on sale.

The Berserker's Enrage skill.

I played this quest pack solo and with my brother, and used the Berzerker in both. We NEVER used Enrage because it just seemed too much cost for too little benefit. 1/2BPs for possibly rolling 1 or 2 skulls, and possibly nothing, seemed way too high a cost.

The Berzerker will soon be played again and in my solo testing I have tried this and I have used it:
Add a guaranteed 1 or 2 skulls for each BP lost.

It's still quite a cost to pay, but now there is a tangible pay back. Now, for me, it's a choice worth considering.

I couldn't use his Enrage skill, since the heroes needed to conserve body points. It seems if you have enough body points when dealing with the final boss, or have some healing potions and really need to 1-shot a Dread Warrior it might be worth using. But in most circumstances you're probably better off not using it.

Yes, I totally agree. The need to conserve BPs is crucial, which is why it never got used as written. With my little variation it might just get used occasionally, although I am pretty sure my brother will still never use even my version.
