If I would remake Heroscribe

I recently bought a book on pyqt, as I somehow ran in difficulties.

They are now less so. This is the monster editor. Standard values are edited directly on the monster card. Double click on the symbol or the picture and you open a picture for that area.

I think about making the background somwehat parchment-ish.
Dream is, if you click on any of the specials on the right side, that special rule is automatically added in the monster card special rule area without destroying the text you have entered there.
Also, it shall be able to export all of it either in the monster table you find in the end of an quest, or directly as png. But that's export functions, that comes later.

Two suggestions:
- Maybe shrink the size of the area for the monster image? That would give more room at the bottom for flavor text and/or special rules text;
- Put the numbers for the various stats center and center, horizontally and vertically;

It was
"Rapid GUI Programming with Python and QT", by Mark Summerfield.

That guy made pyqt. so I thought it would be good. Sadly that book is about pyqt4 and python 2.
So.
Not good.

However I picked up two or three things that were useful. At least.

That's the book I was looking at and the reason I haven't bought it yet is because it's for the older version. Everything I've read online says they've changed a lot between the last version and the current version which has kept me from buying it. Additionally, I've tried to follow examples online that were written in pyqt4 and almost none of them work in version 5, so I was afraid the book would have been a waste of time and money. You already know how little time I have right now.

You guys have the right man on the job of recreating Heroscribe. Anderas is plowing through the code and has found a way that seems to make multi language support a breeze to implement. At the rate he's going, I think he'll have it single-handedly rewritten before my semester is over.
