HeroQuest meets Dungeon Twister

Dungeon Twister is fantasy/strategy game or as some put it - chess in a fantasy setting. There is no luck, there are no dice...it's all about strategies and combos. Each player has a set of characters with distinct abilities. Moreover, rooms can be rotated, items can be found and used. You score points by escaping from the dungeon or killing your enemies.

Although Dungeon Twister is quite different to HeroQuest gameplay-wise, the room tiles look nice and almost have the same size as the HQ squares (DT's squares are slightly bigger).

I think that these room tiles could be used for HeroQuest well. What do you think? Has anybody actually used them? I only have the basic game but there are even some expansions out there with other themes such as snow and ice, the forest, fire...which would be nice for stuff like Barbarian Quest if used.

Really nice...bridges over water, over lava...fog...outdoor areas and more.

Those are some cool tiles. I like the walls as barriers inside the rooms and the maze-like designs. Would make for some fun customised Quests.

No, Dungeon Twister is not that expensive. You should consider buying Dungeon Twister (1) and NOT DT - Prison. DT - Prison aka Dungeon Twister 2 is the latest DT version...same concept, new heroes, plastic figurines...and not cheap.

It's 24€ @ Amazon...an expansion costs 19€.

The American versions are even cheaper...the basic set seems to be out of stock but the expansions are between 16-21 dollars.

Some sets are available in French (original version), English and German...other sets are French and English only and a few are just in French but it should not matter as there is no text on the tiles.

The details of these rooms are nice...traps, walls, bones..the red line is a door...a closed one. It can be opened or breached by certain characters in the game. You could put HQ doors on these red lines, for example.

The rotating spot with the room number is in the middle of each room. You could create a nice maze with it...if you rotate room #3, BOTH rooms with #3 are rotated clockwise or counter-clockwise...this adds some puzzle elements to the game...and the heroes would have to use their brains how to rotate the rooms to get to the exit...or escape from monsters.

Of course some guys at BGG built a 3D version...
