Game Board Converted into Chamber and Hall Tiles

Postby chaoticprime » June 5th, 2013, 10:29 am

I spent a couple hours this morning using Photoshop and Phantom PDF to convert the high-quality board scan from around here into tiles for modular play. I also enlarged them by 30% so that you can actually use them.

Each tile is centered on a single 8.5 x 11 page. Print them out with no scaling or adjustments. If you want to print them at their original sizes (for whatever reason) you can print them at 70% size.
I recommend printing them out on at least cardstock, and in High quality. The difference between Normal and High is considerable with these.

I divided the halls into different shapes for easy placement. I did not want to have a great many small hall tiles, so I also did not eliminate the need to use blocked square tiles. I decided to have larger, easy to distinguish shapes.

Image

Hallways:
x8 [1x4] Exterior Horizontal Hallway
x4 [1x5] Exterior Vertical Hallway
x4 [1x3,1x3] Exterior Vertical to Horizontal, Corner
x4 [1x3,1x5] Exterior <-> Interior, Vertical <-> Horizontal, Perpendicular Intersection
x2 [1x4,2x5] Exterior <-> Interior, Horizontal <-> Vertical, Perpendicular Intersection
x4 [1x2,1x4,1x2] Interior Angled Hallway

These all add up to 26 simple designs. Any of each type can be interchanged, but all are unique in appearance. I used every single tile on the game board.

Here it is, all in one big .pdf file: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B1OKUiO ... sp=sharing

I also converted every other tile from every expansion, too. I need to streamline them a bit before I put them up.

AWESOME! Thanx a million!
Always wanted to have it that way as long as I don't have a full 3D dungeon.
And the square size... perfect.
Again, thanks. |_P

You are welcome.

If you're in the US, or can buy from Wal-Mart online--if not, this is the ideal backing for these: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Medium-Weight ... g/10881056

60pt chipboard is what most game boards are mounted on. If not, buying actual mounting board from a hobby shop would work. Do not mount cardstock on foam-core, poster board, cardboard, corkboard, or toilet paper.

I'm thinking wood, maybe... If there's any kind of it frim and light enough.
I'll get a feeling for the right material when I hold it in my hands.

Nice work! How would you suggest handling the white walls?

There are a couple ways that immediately spring to mind.

First, when you print them out, just measure white space out from color and cut from that. Second, drink the Warhammer Quest kool-aid and trim off all the white, and mount the tiles on black boards with a .25" trim (which is what I am doing).

Edit: A third way would be to mount them on white boards and leaving appropriately wide trim.

I found several major flaws with what I did, and I don't want anyone to print it out and waste their ink (like I have). I am fixing it as we speak.

What problems do you see with using corkboard? My plan is to spray coat cardstock then use modpodge to mount it to the cork. Then use modpodge to seal everything. Toilet paper is still my backup plan.

I made my own tiles the same size as these before I saw this thread probably using the same file. Coulda saved myself a few hours of cut and paste, oh well. I'll can still hit you up for the expansion tiles.
