Reaper minis compatible heroes

Postby Maike05 » April 18th, 2011, 4:05 pm

Hi guys, I bought some miniatures from reaper minis, they look great don't they ?
By the same occasion, I will create new characters for the game, with specific moves/characteristics using mind points.

A ranger :

games-workshop have made their paint range thinner to make it easier for people to wet blend, but i prefer the thicker acrylics because you can thin them down to what you need and when you need it!
also with inks its a good idea to use a little bit of washing up liquid in with it to stop surface tension of the ink so it will spread better.
i really should post some pics of my mini's up for u guys to see....... 1 day.... 1day it will happen!

i dont know why i forgot to say this, coz this is the way i do it: have 2 brushes keep 1 brush wet with water paint the first (shadow)colour then the highlight with a small gap between then gently brush the 2 together with the wet brush, you will have to be quick but its the old fashioned way to do it!

very great heroes miniatures, not too much detailed, so they match exactly with HQ I find... Can't wait to see them painted !

Hi guys, Happy to see such enthusiasm ! that is very motivating ;)

@Baylor_OgreBane : thank you SO much for this tutorial, I couldn't find it easier and clearer ! I started painting the barbarian, I will try that new technique on his cloak beside. I'll paint it in red with shading to dark red, I'm pretty excited about it :) One question though, What do you advise me for the muscles ? a blend or a simple wash ?

@gravaillon : yes reaper mini does an amazing job on sculpting models, it's insane how much they are detailled comparated to the original GW.

@Ethica&torilen : It's 25mm scale, so the same as HQ, TOTALLY compatible ! ;) you'll find an amazing tool on their website to find the exact miniature you want http://www.reapermini.com/FigureFinder

I bought them on miniature market, there is free shipping in usa over $75. or 8€ for international shipping.
