MY HERO....heroes :P

Postby MadMickyG » May 8th, 2015, 6:19 pm

While I'm posting pics, thought I would show the heroes we have here.

Image

From the top left, we have:

Thief, Northern Temple monk, Monk, Elven Sworddancer
Executioner, Knight of the Steel Legion, Gladiator
Barbarian, Dwarf, Halfling Monk, Ranger
Battlemage, Necromancer, Wizard (suffered a melting accident, so he is much shorter :P)
Elf (Elf Archer, Ranger), Elf (Elf Ranger)

My kids love Rangers like their old man!

Most cards made, but not all cards have been printed. Thinking of making merc type cards for unselected heroes, as plenty of times only one kid is home to play.

some interesting conversions here. good work!

seeing they are all painted red to match the originals, I take it you're not going to paint them up?

The red paint adds so much theme... which colour red should i use to copy you? :p
ps. i think i see Gollum in there.

your next Hero could be a Paladin who can heal and gets a discount on armour.

I dont have the time or cash to paint them.

I took the barbarian down to Bunnings Hardware and compared it to the paint cards to match as close as possible to the original miniature colour. Got a $15 sample tin of the right colour. :D
The executioner (barbarian with axe) was painted with red that had built in primer, but was brighter red than needed. It still looks bright, even though I painted it with the new red.
My wife had a grey primer, which works well to match the Chaos Warrior grey. Then I paint over them with the red.
This article in this very forum has a good colour red to get. I couldnt find it, so I thought outside the box. viewtopic.php?f=35&t=1967

I have used permanent marker on some of my undead, to add character.
Also put black eyes for the good Necromancer minions, red eyes for all the evil undead.
Will put some pics up to demonstrate. That's about as close as I am going to get to painting them.

Oh, the Knight of the Steel Legion was a Chaos Warrior from Battlemasters I guess. I changed him to make him more knightish, less Chaos.
The Gladiator has a merc arm on the right, as he is meant to have a hand with a gun, same as the monk. Cant remember what they are called though.
I enjoy making my own miniatures. The Thief is a modified goblin with some *heatshrink* made to look like a cowl and cloak. Another hero I like to play.

I am seriously thinking of taking a Chaos Warrior and putting it on the horse body I have. Or maybe a Barbarian would sit better.

Army Painter Dragon Red Spray Primer comes pretty close to the original heroes' color. There were variations anyway.
It's definitely the simplest and fastest solution. A can goes at around 11 €.

Wow. I really would like to say I like them. :)
But I definitely like to point out that this time it has to be sufficient if you like them.

Did you make some Hero house rules for all your Heroes that you can show?

I took some rules from the extra heroes people have posted, plus some of my own things...like Monk powers.
Find the cards here, last post on the page. There are a few more in the same thread.

Here are my EU Hero cards.

Still refining abilities here and there, trying to balance them a little.

My kids all like to play Rangers though, mainly due to how I showed them how awesome Rangers can be. Monks and Thieves are popular too.
My son does like to play the magic types, especially the Battle Mage.

The girls have arrived!

Image

Thanks again to Billdask for the castings.

Took the sword from the female barb and gave it to one of the female elves.

As I have 3 weapon racks, I took one of the axes from a rack and gave it to the female barb. Thinking of making a bastard axe now, one or two hander.

Took a bow from one of my male elves, gave it to the other female elf, female ranger created. Now have a spare male elf (with the two daggers.) Assassin maybe.....or something similar.

And my son mentioned why not have a female wizard as well.

Then turned them to redcoats...or gave them a red coat of paint....not sure which one I did. :P

Have changed the female Elf with sword to female Elf with staff to be Wizard. The female Elf ranger can be normal Elf if required.

Now for their cards, I have extra Barb, Elf and Wizard cards. So I made the image to cover up the original for that type.

The cards they are on are correct. This was just to show.

I also decided to make my shrunken little wizard (see first thread post image) in to a Gnome Wizard. No character card yet, but have an image:
