The particular reason was actual artistic freedom.
Some of the leathers, the leaves, and the rusts are very orange, so I let the green skin (which was more turquoise i.e. bluish from the get-go)
become more blue in an area that I wanted to emphasize and draw focus to.
Blue and orange are direct complementaries.
Also, the blue I used is as cold as it gets, and I wanted to have that second contrast with the very warm reddish brown of the leaves/nature
which emphasizes the Goblins' parasitical lifestyle if anyone cares to interpret that much into it.

Caerworm, stats unclear.
The slime is a mixture of Uhu Alleskleber, Citadel Nurgle's Rot, and a little water and gloss varnish.

Thanks, mate. This is indeed a very nice figure. Reaper Bones, to be had at well below 10 bucks, I believe.
This is one of two Bones minis I've painted so far, and with my chaotic thick wet blended basecoating/"Shaded Basecoat" technique (term coined by James Wappel)
these take paint pretty gratefully. It's a joy to slap colors on during the first layers, and afterwards it's no difference to other materials.
There's only about 3 hours of work in that thing, if I recall correctly, although I never stay behind just one figure from start to finish, but rather use my wet palette until it is used up on many different figures after that first basecoating chaos.

As I don't play with monster cards, but rather with charts to tick off body points and such,
this will be a vanity project.
Even a deck of over 250 cards will not be too expensive to do the deed one day (well, several days) and I can shop the photo efficiently. But I'd have to derive art from all kinds of sources with the styles all over the place, which I don't like at all.

Thank you for the praise. I have seen a lot of purple worms pained up, and I took inspiration from D&D art as well as these other mini painters.
With the selfmade slime I put my own idea into the mix and I rather like the result myself.
