They are custom characters. The minis are from the citadel range (1982/85)

*BUSTED* - This guy is actually ant man, he shrinks down to the same size as the minis and THAT'S how he gets that detail. or they aren't mini's - he's recreated them really big.
something like that.

Ye gods those are good!

Re: My HQ painted collection

Postby Dunadan » December 11th, 2015, 4:01 pm

First of all thank you for posting all the pictures of your wonderfull painted HeroQuest figures.
They are the best i ever seen !! i've been thinking of starting to paint again.

and what better way to learn from the best.

But i want to do it right and am searching for information on how to best paint them.
I do know some of the basic techniques but i want to learn more and find tips to be a better painter.
So i got some questions for you. (hope you don't mind)

- Do you always use a white primer? and never use black as a primer?
- What kind of paints colors did you use to paint the orc/fimir/kobalt skin?

If i started painting would this be good steps?

- clean the model
- prime the model
- basecoat
- shade with inks
- dry brush
- highlight/detail
- base the model
- Seal the model.

are there any other steps i did forget. or any other techniques i could use.
i alway use thinner to get a thinner paint

any tips are welcome !!
