My HQ painted collection

Postby RemyT » September 24th, 2013, 4:31 am

Hello here.
I'm a french fan of heroquest since 1993. All I wanted at this point was having a set of miniatures painted as the same standard than the McVey's minis. Well 20 years after I'm done, and I'm now working with Mike mcVey on his own games as a miniatures designer. I guess I've made a good step in my career.
Well enough talking, let's put some pictures of my little plastic guys.

The heroes first.

And the chaos guys

And the whole set

Im now working on the furnitures. I remove the cardboard and put some plasticard instead. The wood is hand painted not engraved on the plastic.

For the doors I reuse the AHQ doors but I put a brass rod in the door to reinforce the original weak doors.

So the next step is to paint the remaining miniatures from the expansion and paint my whole set of AHQ minis... and there is a lot since I've got a complete collection to play the official stuff.

Stay tuned and thank you for watching, if you've got any question don't hesitate.

Cheers,

Rémy

:o Those are some very nice paint jobs - how long did it take you to get them done?

Your barbarian looks very stern :) I love it!

I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest of your set

I think it's fair to say this is the most beautiful painted set ever seen on the web! The paintjob is brilliant, every detail has been painted, and some i did not even know they existed ! The is to me, my favourite painted set so far !

Thanks a lot for having shared it with us RemyT!

Oh and by the way, welcome to the Inn! Hope we'll see some more nice pictures of your work soon ;)

Ps: il y a quelques francophone sur le forum, j'en fais partie ;)

Yup. Brilliant. Thanks for utterly destroying any sense of achievement I have had up to now... I'm going to poke my eyes out with a stick now. :o

That's a compliment by the way. But whenever I see professional levels like this, I just want to cry. How on earth do people achieve this? Veins on the zombies!? Eyes so detailed!? the chaos warrior's armour!? THE BOTTLES ON THE TABLE!?!?!? MY GOD THE BOTTLES!!!

*SIGH* All of my work will forever be crap after seeing this :'(

What can I say. We immediately see a huge expertise in paint. I think that to reach such heights, you need to have the necessary talent by birth. I bow to such a masterpiece. / Do not know if I ask this to make at least one thumbnail of this quality, I just need a lot of time and most importantly the magnifying glass.
