Ye Olde Inn

In the HeroQuest-Craze I've had the last couple of months I decided to finally paint my miniatures, and buy some new ones. I have recently recieved models for my home made characters, so I've mainly focused on the the heroes for now. However, I'm looking forward to doing the gargoyle quite a bit

Let me start you off with the Barbarian...

And here is the Dwarf...

Hello, the barbarian look very good, I like his eyes ! However, the dwarf's armor look too shiny to me, you could just simply apply a badab black wash to make it more realistic!

I don't mind the shiny armor - just to put in my 2 cents

I like the shiney armour but think a black wash on it would add more depth to it.

I agree that a black wash would look good.

Seems like I need to at least try a black wash, then! Though I'm generally not good at washes...but we'll se how it turns out.

If it gets too much with all the black you can always drybrush with metal once it dries up.

Also someone mentioned "badab black wash" from citadel. I wouldn't really recommend that particular paint. The new citadel washes are kinda different from what the used to be - from what we usually call washes.
Normally a wash is supposed to sneak into all the little cracks and holes and stay away from the raised areas.
Citadel's new washes however covers everything equally. This is good if you want to give something a tad darker shade. Or if using say red wash on a red shirt, it will kinda smooth out your shadows and highlights.

I would recommend getting a black wash from another brand. Or if you are lazy or don't want to invest in more paint, you can just use normal black mixed with a little water.

Delvan Mud wash.

Can't go wrong with that one on these mini's.

The metal parts are supposed to be shiny, right, but the leather (like the gloves) look shiny at the dwarf, at least at the picture, and this really takes away some of the otherwise nice work.
