Hey everyone I am the owner of http://www.nicolasgenovese.com I did a bunch of HeroQuest related miniatures about a year and a half ago. The 3 zombies, the frozen ogre, and the yetis. I have recently decided to sculpt full time as a profession which is workign out really well so far, and in my free time I am going to remake every HQ model. Right now I have a few barbarians I'm working on. One of which with the sword is closely related to the HQ barbarian. I just started the 4 wizards of Morcor yesterday and will be workign on them this week. If you'd like to follow progress of them please visit my facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/nicolasge ... 8405840144 where I will post updates frequently. So far the only 2 sets of the old minis i made that are available are the yetis from Badger Games of wisconsin, and the 3 zombies from troll forged miniatures. I will be remaking them at some point here. I thought i would start with the heroes first and do 3 of each type with at least 1 closely related to the original game piece. Then do rare or unmodeled characters and then do others.

Here are the current in progress pictures of the 3 barbarians.

Very cool project you have started up. I'm sure there is a marked for remade HQ miniatures.

Personally I could be very interested in this, but I would want the minis to resemble the originals pretty closely. Different poses and added detail are okay.
But giving the barbarian a cloth/leather loincloth instead of fur and giving him a one-handed sword is drifting too far for my taste.

Thing is... I can get a cool barbarian everywhere. But I don't want A barbarian- I want THE barbarian! :)

He has to stay outside the lines of what would be considered copywritten material. Though I agree about the two handed sword. :)

Yeah well... The HQ barbarian is basically Conan anyways. Who is violating who's copyrights?

I see your point though. I still think he should push it to the limit!

don't these mini's eventually go into the public domain?

how many years has it been since the last official HQ item left the warehouse of the production company to the public?

Ah, so you're the Yeti's on snowboards guy :D cool stuff! Those yeti's and the frozen horror would be awesome for the FH campaign.

Wouldn't it be cool to do the Heroes using the poses from the Game System box cover or expansions, altered slightly? As much as I like the Fire and Ice Barbarian, I'd go for original poses. Hasbro hasn't yet shown any legal interference our tiny niche market, because it doesn't pay to do so.
