Aventuras Heróicas - The first Brazilian HeroQuest

Postby HispaZargon » February 6th, 2025, 10:08 pm

Edited by HispaZargon: The first four posts were moved to this new thread from older thread "More Published HeroQuest - The Brazilian files". Posts title has been updated accordingly for better tracking.

Not sure yet if this topic has been already discussed but I recently found this article talking about the other Brazilian HeroQuest, called "Aventuras Heróicas":

http://blog.casalgeek.com/2020/11/avent ... t.html?m=1

According to the article it was a blatant copy of HeroQuest but with lead miniatures and different story and board.

First I've heard of it. Well, it appears very affordable. Notably missing: Treasure Cards.

Seems all the miniatures were poor recasts of old preslotta citadel miniatures

Interesting to see that the Wizard is an elf, and the Elf is replaced by a Cleric with 4 spells instead of 3!

The Wizard has 9 spells like in HeroQuest.

The artworks in box cover and Character Boards are not bad at all (maybe the Dwarf not too good but the rest yes).... and maybe the box cover art is too gore even for that time.

Found the page on BGG with more photos:
https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/659 ... s-heroicas

Expansion here:
https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgameexpa ... sa-o-encon

I can confirm they were using Citadel miniatures, both slotta and preslotta but slighty modified with a solid bases (the paladin for example) but labeled by IDD Miniatures and featuring a lower quality in details. The princess was also using the body from a classic female elf and modified head and weapons.
Many of these models were sculpted directly by Citadel founder, Bryan Ansell and are some of their earliest products.

Interesting...

Cool to see that even existed and expansion where the rescued princess joins the party of Heroes.

It seems a bit akward but maybe a conversion of this adventures to HeroQuest would be a nice project? Not too challenging of course because they are already in fact HeroQuest adventures, I guess.

Another article from Gustavo Coelho here: http://blog.casalgeek.com/2020/12/advan ... -solo.html
