Dungeon Saga Origins

Has anyone else found this game interesting? It has a lot of crossover appeal with Hero Quest. I think there are some great AHQ-like ideas that could port over as houserules in an HQ game. Zargon using interrupt tokens springs to mind. The use of facing also seems to work well. Boons also seems cool. While I like the game design behind modular board sections (double-wide corridors a plus), I don't like the overall room execution. It's way too crowded and messy looking for my taste.

This is the streamlined successor to Dungeon Saga, so it plays a lot more like HeroQuest than that original game. The four factions of monsters--Undead, Goblins, Abyssal Dwarfs, and Twilight Kin (Dark Elves/Drow)--each has its own adventure book of 10 "Quests." All of these beautiful miniatures could also be homebrewed into HeroQuest, of course, which is why this game looks so interesting to me.

Just one general thought...

All my respect to our Italian, German and French members in the Inn, but I don't still understand why Spanish is not one of the main languages considered for board game releases.

Spanish is the third more spoken language in the world, and the second more spoken native language in the world. Moreover, it is one of the only four languages which are spoken in more than two continents.

I think the time to publish more games in Spanish has come yet, the Companies are losing lot of potential buyers!!

Those are all big factors. My first thought is that game companies are looking at countries rather than language zones. It is true that Spain fan sites are well represented on the Internet, so you'd think there is something there. But apart from that, I wonder why a country like Mexico hasn't appeared on the map like Brazil has in the past. Perhaps you are right and the time has come, though I know little of Central and South American game culture, much less the distribution inroads that companies like Hasbro may wish to operate there, if any.

It would be great if another foreign company followed the Estralia plan and licensed First Light. Maybe the solution lies somewhere in the Internet, perhaps crowdfunding is a start.
