A bar would be cool

Postby cynthialee » March 22nd, 2012, 11:11 am

So many of my games have featured a bar room brall that I would love a propper piece of minature bar furniture.

I have plenty of tables and chairs for the patrons, but a proper bar with a rack of booze and a big mirror would rock socks.

A pool table would be neat also...

hmmmmmmm
Maybe a stage for the Bards.

(I know, it is so clique to have the adventurers fighting in bars, but why tamper with a classic?)

If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

A bar is cool, but for me a pool table is too modern.

...

My first google search for "Dungeon furniture" didn't go well... Should have seen that one coming...

But this should be what you are looking for:

WOW.
Neat!!!

As for the pool table....About 15 years ago in one of the campaings we had going in my game world a member of the Mexican Army from the year 1995 fell through a time/space rift and ended up as a hero in a series of adventures. When he missed his window of opporttunity to get back to Earth circa the 20th century he took up residence in Namdak city and introduced the games of pool, crocette and baseball to the mystic realms. There is a billiards table in every bar in Namdak city. Big buisness. (Of course a '+2 cue of table running' is a sure way to get a bar room brawl started.)
:D

Billards is a relatively old game, known from the 1500s. Mozart was known as a big billards fan. The pool variant is a bit younger.
Have a look ;)

For anyone who's into modelling (no not that sort)... instead of pool tables, why not have itty bitty HeroQuest games set up on the bar tables? :D

I saw that sort of thing included in somebody's Ork bar-room model somewhere ages ago (though that was for Warhammer 40K).

I have about a dozen bar tables (with chairs)...and a bar.

Removing all that kind of furniture from my quest designs has been part of what I've been doing to post up quests here. I figured everyone else doesn't have near the furniture selection I have, so I scaled back.

My first 100% solo icon worked out nicely after a couple trial and errors (mainly due to getting the right size I wanted, as it is smaller than a single square). Went with something fairly simple to start. Made an icon for Derfel's Raised Switch tile.
