Very cool video iKarith! This is the reason why I love RPGs! The freedom it has and this rule just amplifies it. Return of the lazy dm is a great resource.

I loved the miniature boardgame experience I had with HeroQuest as a kid, that started it all. Back then I also dabbled with an RPG that was called the Dark Eye, and the system was great similar to DnD.The idea that you can do anything in this system like in dnd was mindblowing but back then RPGs were only theatre of the mind.

Then 25 years later I come back to it and see that actually you can combine both what they now do in tabletop RPGs - combining the 3 d aspect. terrain and minis (like Hero Quest) with the theatre of the mind and freeodom/RPG aspect of DnD. The combination is just killer!

I recommend Dan DeFazio's stuff entirely. He's been a published D&D creator since 2E and he's revised his game down to a cinematic art form for people who don't have four hours for an encounter and want their game to have epic stakes but epic stories told by survivors. And the dead? They just roll up new characters and join at the nearest opportunity. His whole channel is aimed at making the game feel more old-skool while taking advantage of modern innovations when those things actually innovate.

Drunkens and Dragons genius Dungeonmaster session prep tips!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjkY2QKeS4Y

- only prepare one session at a time
- what would be cool mindset? (gettin into the creative flow)
- completely let go of proposed and imposed solutions in your scenarios
- dont contrive and keep things simple and real
- use writing your notes as a tool to remember not get back to later

Here are some thoughts about "Dungeon Crawl Classics". I love the style and a lot of things about that gamesystem, mindblowing art. There is a philosophy in it, thats very cool.

It's not advice but some classic (Basic/Expert) DnD modules just became available on DriveThruRPG.

B4 The Lost City
B5 Horror on the Hill
B6 The Veiled Society

I only play B/X (using the Old School Essentials retroclone) at this point, so this is a good day for me at least lol. Hate PDFs and reading off screens (and paying 90 dollars for original modules on Ebay).
