Seriously!? I can't wait to get my hands on Warhammer Quest. The thing is so damned expensive on eBay... even when it's incomplete and painted! I've been wanting a set of those rats, bats and spiders for decades.

You're right on with the Terror in the Dark. I wasn't impressed at all. In fact, mine is still unpunched, but I got it with my Advanced HeroQuest (which is also unused and most of the minis are still on sprue, but the tiles are punched) for a really good deal. I've been itchin' to make some modular quests myself. I really like the Skaven. I'm hoping to use them in Phoenix' Return of the Witch Queen when my group finishes the official quests. They're just heading into Ogre Horde now so... it may still be a year yet.

The cardboard chests, portcullises and throne are cheap (as in a rip-off) as are the cardboard tombs, rats, bats etc. from TinD. I don't know why, but Games Workshop always seems to cheap-out of things. AHQ and TinD along with all their other Fantasy games weren't inexpensive when they were on the market. Classic HeroQuest just has a whole lot more value in the box. More (exclusive) Miniatures, actual furniture, plus all the cardboard tiles, cards, game board, special dice, game screen... the box is pack so full it's a Tetris game just trying to fit it all back in once you've punched everything out and assembled them.

But... if you can find a good copy of AHQ for a fair price, it does make a great addition to HeroQuest.

I can provide you those precious scans !
I know also some places where to get the pdf rulebook.
But the main question is : do you have the right to do it since it's a entire GW product that may be FFG will release...?
(WHQ & SH are going to be released)

However the only expansion (terror in the dark) isn't interesting since it's too expensive for paper blocks & 2 or 3 cardboard floor tiles ! It doesn't bring new things that's why I didn't buy it.

To resume shortly ADVANCED HEROQUEST is still a boardgame into dunjeons with nice adventures but more evoluted than warhammer quest or descent. You can use your heroquest material without a problem and add more.
The important things you need to know about this gameboard :

* compatible with heroquest and all the expansions.
* 4 new heroes, 20 henchmen & 20 skaven figurines.
* a modular board.
* 6 plastic doors. (you can open it)
* levels for all characters. (including magic powers)
* a challenge between the heroes and the gamemaster. (the GM role is better)
* dices to dterminate into hazard tables.
* a lot of cardboard sheets representing grids, traps, chests (that's a bad point) etc.
* a huge rulebook including quests you can play as a serial.

WHQ is going to be rereleased?

SPACE HULK (version 3) will be released on september 5, 2009.

Games Workshop Fans launched rumours about SH & WHQ at the same time.
So we wait for news since the first part of the rumor is finally true after one year.

By the way erratum about FFG which hasn't the right to produce gameboards with figurines of 28 mm on the licences GW sold them last year.It was into the deal & we ignore if WHQ was into those licences.

Interesting topic, I have AHQ and WHQ, but we found that they don't FLOW as well as the original HQ, too much stopping & starting. Too many breaks in the ACTION!!
I have most of the original cards & tiles if anyone needs copies. :mrgreen:

We're still waiting for news from GW about re-releases but we lost hope after this september.... again ...
Looks like GW fanatics are only into wargames battles, collecting expensive miniatures, painting it and no more.
Few of them are interested in those old dunjeon boardgames and know it.
Advanced HeroQuest was the father of the advanced rules of WarHammer Quest.
The system is better to me but too many dices to launch and tables to refer for the results.
Descent solved a big part of the problem by deciding to put on each side of the dices many symbols for damages, bonus, range, missed.
The action point system of space hulk/dragon fire is my favourite choice for HQ but ADV HQ added the option of the leveling and the liberty of a roleplaying game.... not so good face to D&D true but may be that's why GW gave up the dunjeon avdentures once and for all ?...

the excel quest creator out there has a page (monster page) with proper squares on it. I just put borders around the spaces ive filled in as squarts on the game and then fill it different colours. More for making sure ive no overlaps when we play. i use my 6x2, 2x2, (mind i'm a hirst arts owner and make my own tiles) boards as corridors
1 squares as door tile and a variety of room sizes - it works no bother

I've already done the return of the witch queen (and the quest from 2009 where youve lost aw yer gear on a shipwrecked island - by the way gr8 stuff) and if someone sends me an email address or something to send it to then they can have a look and post it if they think its any good.

drathe - can u help re how to send it on to your website? as an attachment?

technophobe!!

Did anyone ever make any 3 player quests (as in 2 heroes and 1 evil Wizard)?
