Zargon's Tower of Darkness

Postby Azure » November 26th, 2020, 1:12 pm

Hello there fellow adventurers, courageous warriors and wise magi. I am Azure, a gamer who is extremely passionate about dungeon crawler games. I am currently in the process of creating a new procedure for solo adventures called ''Zargon's Tower of Darkness''. The storyline is extremely basic and goes as follows ; so our Evil Wizard Zargon decided to build a mysterious tower in the distant dark lands.

Whomever would explore this tower and attempt to uncover its mysteries could try their luck and come back from the tower with riches and gold. Should they perish during their adventure, they would become part of Zargon's new army of chaos and serve the Forces of Darkness. The concept is pretty simple ; the Tower of Darkness has 16 floors. Every floor has a maximum of 9 rooms, structured in a perfect square. When you finish a floor, you automatically earn 150 Gold, that you may keep or use to buy supplies during your adventure. I will work on this thing in the next weeks. The module comes with extra monsters and a way to populate the dungeon in a specific procedure. You can resurrect a dead hero with a magical scroll for 500 Gold. You would explore this dungeon with the 4 heroes.

I'm also working on a GENIUS way to play HeroQuest solo without knowing what is next in the dungeon, using EXCEL from the Microsoft Suite.
You know that you have access to ''sheets'' when you load a document ? YEAHHHHH

So sheet 1 will always be your starting room, that includes a door, or 2...
Sheet 2 will be the next room (example: ''to the right'')
Sheet 6 will be the next room (example: ''to the left'')

You only click the corresponding sheet when you open the corresponding door !! Therefore - - everything else remains totally hidden !!

So by following this procedure, somebody could create adventures for the community at large, and the effect of surprise would still be there !!

Tell me what you think, put a comment, and/or contact me directly.
I'm willing to show you how it works.

This spreadsheet thing is interesting. I've been using a randomizer for treasure and surprise cards that I invented here in Excel, and I think it's even better than paper cards.

I'll try to send the Randomizer around here so you can take a look around here on the forum. I do not know if I can.

Forgive my google translator.
