Suggested quest making tool: Template for Text

With HeroScribe we have a very nicely designed tool for creating the maps which we can then export as images.

But what would be nice is if someone with the know-how could create a Photoshop template to copy/paste that map into which has layers set up for the parchment area from Mentor and then the "A" "B" "C" and such notes and then the Wandering Monster at the bottom. Has anyone seen such a thing?

I love HeroScribe because of how accurate it looks to the maps in the official quest books, but I'd love to have a template for the notes sections to look just as accurate, and HeroScribe Enhanced doesn't quite cut it.

There's a tool that makes these templates. This one uses Word. So does this one.

Ah, but I was looking for something that uses layers in Photoshop (or Paint.Net or Gimp or whatever) since I prefer to never use Word, personally.

I have Photoshop templates I made and used to make the Quest Books found in the Champion's Table forum. But all the letter icons, wandering monster icons and stats bars are separate image files I just copied and pasted into the template. I haven't yet combined everything into a single template yet. It's been on my to-do list for a while. I have lots of stuff that still needs completing, but I'll bump it up the list above some less urgent stuff. Keep reminding me every week or so. It helps.

Well, I do understand you. Microsoft is the worst thing that ever happened and ever will happen computers - to the computer szene, to the technical developement of computers, both in soft- and hardware, to the versability of computers to the benefit of mankind. I never willingly spent and never will spend a penny to microsoft.
But then again, Word is the most easy to find and at the moment the most functional word prozessor. Not because it is good, but because better competitors have been ruined by criminal methods. I use the tools I have, and for creating booklets like HQ questbook, Word with the right macros is a very useful tool.

The reason I opted to not use your tool had nothing to do with any sort of hatred for Microsoft, but simply because I couldn't figure out how to use it in Word 7; and I think of myself as fairly competent with software. So I spent some time piecing together a template in Paint.Net (a freeware similar to a very basic Photoshop).

Here's the current version of my Photoshop Quest Book Template. (right-click and save) Photoshop knowledge is required, or else it may seem overwhelming. This is the version I just used to create washi's Portuguese Kellar's Keep Quest Book. It's more advanced than the ones I used to created the Remastered Ogre Horde, Wizards of Zargon a few years ago and the Remastered Adventure Design Kit in January. All the Wandering Monster icons are at the ready when making Quests. You just have to select the one you want in view. All the note icons are ready, but take a bit of tweaking depending on where the note paragraph begins. If making a full Quest Book, the rules pages are very tricky depending on where you're placing sample icons and images, but if you have experience, you'll be just fine.
