Here is one I started on last night. I hope to finish it within a week or two...might be longer because
I go on vacation next weekend for a week...and I never know how busy I'll be during the other times.
We'll see what happens. I've got at least the first four quests planned out already...just need to put
them together.
This is the intro page to the quest pack. I decided to differ from the "Mentor" introduction, and go with
the intro style from Ogre Horde and Wizards quest packs.
Skulmar stands in the barren room, surrounded by nothing by the stone of the stronghold that protects him. Before him, a magical portal, double the size of any normal door, is dark and empty. Suddenly, the portal begins to glow blood-red and a robed and hooded figure appears and steps forth. Skulmar drops to one knee and bows his head deeply.
"Lord Zargon, I live to serve you and your master, Chaos." He says, his voice high-pitched and gravely. Zargon sneered, showing his distaste and dissatisfaction.
"The Witch Lord served me. You simply grovel and beg that I allow you to live long enough to someday find a way to hide yourself from me. Let me assure you that day will never come. You can never hide from me, and in the end, I will kill you and forever trap your soul in the Pits of Bedlam, tortured and broken. Until then, you do your best to keep me pleased. I tell you truthfully, you fail each and every time.
"However, you are my only follower left at the time being, and so I have a task for you, and pray that you do not fall short once again." Skulmar shuddered and whimpered as Zargon moved closer to him and laid a hand on his shoulder.
"Anything, my most glorious lord. Command me, and I shall fly as a dragon to the sheep."
"You managed to escape your last peril with most of my Faithful Servant's spell books. I command you to hide those books for now, until I am able to raise up sorcerers who are able to understand and use the power held within them properly. Hide the books, and charge your legion with their protection. Should even one of those books fall into the hands of Mentor and his band of hapless heroes, rest assured that you will not see the next sunrise."
"Yes, master." Skulmar said softly, still on one knee, head still bowed. He waited. After a few moments, Zargon sighed heavily.
"Go forth, you troll wart!" He yelled, backhanding Skulmar hard enough to send him skidding nearly ten feet across the stone floor. The large, robed figure then turned and exited through the portal. The blood-red glow died, leaving only the flicker of torch light once again. Skulmar wiped blood from the corner of his blackened eye and smiled. His master entrusted him with an important task, and he would not fail him.
