The Road Warrior wrote:Looking good.
here are a few things I noticed on my first read through this.
- Quest 4 - There is no explanation of the pillar icon in rooms A & B. I only know it is a pillar because I looked it up in Heroscribe.
The Road Warrior wrote:
- Quest 6 note A does not make sense. What is intended here?
The Road Warrior wrote:
- Quest 8 It is not clear from the map that the extra corridor tiles create a new room here. Is there any way to change this?
The Road Warrior wrote:
- Quest 9 note B what is a lance? This should be a spear but there is no spear in the NA version.
The Road Warrior wrote:[*]Quest 10 note B potion of Will - is this the potion of resolve mentioned on page 2
potion of velocity - should this be potion of speed? I don't know what this is called in the NA version or if it even exists.

Daedalus wrote:I always thought the title was Champions of the Empire. Makes more sense, as it refers to the Heroes and their paths of light or darkness.
Daedalus wrote:The pillars were included as a simple 3D build to add some eye candy. They function identically to stone block tiles, so a simple alternative for this localization could be to substitute stone block tiles on the maps and eliminate the pillars from the contents list and appendix. Another way to go at it would be to provide an explanation of pillars on page 2, complete with the icon.
Daedalus wrote:I can definitely see corridor and rooms now. I think it would be a good idea to include the corridor tile icon and actual tile picture on page 2 with a brief explanation. Whether that can be done or not, it might be a good idea to add an introductory note about the placement of the tile in the Notes section of this Quest. Without north and south tile sides on the map, it's a bit unclear when compared to the original ghan corridor-tile.

Yes, it should be a spear. Good point about the lack of a spear in the NA system. This NA localization will need an amended armory entry, or it should be swapped for another weapon. A broadsword is close. A mercenary halberd might also work, with a noted explanation of 3 Attack dice and diagonal attack.
Daedalus wrote:POTION OF RESOLVE
You find a reddish potion which gives you incredible willpower during combat. On the turn you drink it, the Evil Sorcerer player may not exchange his monster's position with yours in melee, even if you suffer the loss of one or more Body Points. This may be only used once. Do not return this card to the deck.
Yes, judging from the description, the Potion of Will should be a Potion of Resolve.
Daedalus wrote:Should the Potion of Velocity be a Potion of Speed? Maybe, but I'm not sure. The EQP has a Potion of Speed, but it may only be used by the Elf. The original Champions was created with EU rules, so this may not be ghan's intent. How about a PM, knightkrawler?

I think Daedalus and I have debated this before I got sloppy and agreed on Champions of the Empire.

I'd go with the explanation: "The pillars found in the back of the quest book as printable 3-dimensional objects occupy one square each when folded and glued and work exactly the same way as blocked squares. Thus, you can use blocked square tiles as alternatives for pillars any time."Daedalus wrote:I can definitely see corridor and rooms now. That's up to drathe. More work, but keeping in the vein of the NA expansions.
